Frame your credentials around measurable operational impact
Amazon's Business Operations hiring is data-driven. Quantify process improvements, cost reductions, or efficiency gains in your resume before applying. Hiring managers evaluate whether your background maps directly to USCIS specialty occupation standards for operations roles.
Target roles tied to Amazon's core business units
Program manager and operations analyst roles within AWS, Fulfillment, or Advertising are frequent sponsors. Searching by these business units surfaces positions with dedicated headcount budgets, which are more likely to include visa sponsorship from the outset.
Search verified sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Filter Business Operations openings at confirmed sponsoring companies using Migrate Mate. This cuts out roles where sponsorship is ambiguous and surfaces Amazon positions where your visa type is already supported.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Amazon distinguishes between H-1B transfers for candidates already in status and new H-1B cap registrations. Ask your recruiter early whether the role supports a cap-exempt transfer or requires entering the annual lottery, since this affects your start-date timeline.
Understand how Amazon's LCA filing affects your start date
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting any H-1B petition to USCIS. At Amazon's scale, internal legal teams handle this, but LCA certification typically takes seven business days and must be completed before your petition goes in.
Align your degree field to the posted job requirements
USCIS requires a direct connection between your degree field and the specialty occupation. For Business Operations roles at Amazon, degrees in industrial engineering, supply chain management, or business analytics carry more weight than general management credentials when USCIS evaluates the petition.

Does Amazon sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations?
Yes, Amazon sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations roles. Amazon is a registered H-1B employer and files petitions for qualifying positions across program management, operations analysis, and supply chain functions. Sponsorship availability depends on the specific role and whether you're transferring an existing H-1B or require a new cap-subject registration through the annual USCIS lottery.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at Amazon?
Apply directly through Amazon's careers portal at amazon.jobs, filtering by job category for operations and program management roles. Tailor your resume to Amazon's leadership principles and include measurable outcomes. Migrate Mate also lists verified Business Operations openings at Amazon, letting you filter specifically for roles that support your visa type before you apply.
Which visa types does Amazon sponsor for Business Operations roles?
Amazon sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, and E-3 visas for Business Operations positions, covering candidates from most countries as well as Chilean, Singaporean, and Australian nationals specifically. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Amazon also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, typically after a period of employment, through the PERM labor certification process with DOL.
What qualifications does Amazon expect for Business Operations positions?
Most Business Operations roles at Amazon expect a bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business-related field, such as industrial engineering, supply chain management, operations research, or business analytics. Strong SQL skills, experience with data visualization tools, and familiarity with process improvement frameworks like Lean or Six Sigma are common requirements. Senior roles often expect prior experience managing cross-functional programs at scale.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Amazon Business Operations offer?
Timeline depends on your visa type. An H-1B transfer from an existing employer can allow you to start within two to four weeks of filing. A cap-subject H-1B requires registration in the March lottery, with an October 1 start date at the earliest. E-3 consular processing for Australian nationals typically runs two to four weeks after your interview. USCIS premium processing, if available, can reduce adjudication to 15 business days.
