INTRODUCTION
From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies.
We’re looking for a highly organized and execution-oriented Process Analyst to support documentation and analysis of core GTM, operational, and systems workflows across the business. In this role, you will partner with Systems Engineers, Technical Product Managers, RevOps, Finance, and GTM stakeholders to create accurate, scalable, and well-structured process documentation that supports systems transformation, operational efficiency, and AI readiness initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating clarity from ambiguity, thrives in fast-moving environments, and has a strong attention to detail. You’ll be responsible for translating complex operational workflows into clean, organized process artifacts including swimlanes, decision trees, data flow diagrams, and operational documentation that can be used by business and technical teams alike.
The work is highly cross-functional and requires someone who can quickly absorb information, ask thoughtful questions, synthesize large amounts of feedback, and maintain high quality documentation across multiple concurrent workstreams. Strong process mapping and visualization skills, especially in Lucidchart, are critical for success in this role.
You’ll work closely with TPMs and Systems teams to help ensure business processes are clearly documented, consistently understood, and accurately reflected in system implementations and transformation initiatives.
This is a full-time position based out of our Oakland or Denver office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.
TECHNOLOGIES YOU’LL USE
Lucidchart, Google Workspace, Jira, Salesforce, Looker, SQL, Gong, IronClad, NetSuite, Miro, and other GTM, operational, and business systems used to support process documentation, systems transformation, and workflow analysis.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Document current-state business and technical workflows across GTM, Finance, Operations, and Systems teams using L2–L4 process maps
- Create high-quality process artifacts including swimlanes, decision trees, data touchpoint diagrams, RACI matrices, and exception handling flows
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and shadow end users to understand how operational workflows function in practice
- Synthesize complex or inconsistent information into clear, organized, and actionable documentation
- Identify process gaps, unclear handoffs, operational inconsistencies, and exception paths
- Maintain a centralized and well-organized process documentation library with strong versioning and documentation hygiene
- Partner with TPMs and Systems teams to support systems transformation and process improvement initiatives
- Build lightweight operational reports or dashboards to validate process observations and support process analysis
- Support UAT activities and validate that implemented system changes align with documented workflows
- Create supporting documentation and enablement materials for operational rollout and adoption efforts
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3–5 years of experience in business analysis, operations, consulting, business systems, or related roles in SaaS or high-growth technology environments
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with demonstrated ability to produce accurate and high-quality documentation quickly
- Strong process mapping and workflow visualization skills using tools such as Lucidchart, Miro, or Visio
- Ability to structure ambiguous information into clear, scalable, and easy-to-understand process artifacts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to ask thoughtful questions and synthesize stakeholder feedback effectively
- Comfortable managing multiple concurrent requests and priorities across cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience facilitating working sessions, capturing decisions, and maintaining organized follow-through
- Familiarity with operational workflows across GTM, Finance, Customer Success, or business systems environments
- Basic reporting and analytical skills with comfort working with operational or CRM data
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and workflow copilots to support documentation, research, synthesis, and process analysis work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with Salesforce, CPQ, subscription billing, or revenue operations systems
- Experience working with process governance, process libraries, or continuous improvement initiatives
- Exposure to systems transformation or operational scale programs
- Experience supporting enablement, training, or operational rollout activities
- Basic SQL or reporting experience
WHY YOU’LL THRIVE HERE
You’re someone who loves bringing clarity to chaos, turning messy workflows into clean process maps, and catching the details everyone else missed.
You thrive in fast-moving environments with lots of stakeholders, shifting priorities, and operational puzzles to solve. You ask smart questions, learn quickly, stay organized under pressure, and genuinely enjoy creating documentation people will actually use instead of letting it quietly die in the depths of a shared drive.
This role gives you the opportunity to work across GTM, Finance, Operations, Systems, and Engineering while helping build the operational foundation that enables Fivetran to scale smarter, faster, and with a lot less process confusion.

Frame your credentials around data operations workflows
Fivetran's Business Operations roles sit at the intersection of revenue operations, finance, and go-to-market strategy. Tailor your resume to show experience with data pipelines, SaaS metrics, or cross-functional process improvement, not just general business analysis.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting any offer
Fivetran participates in E-Verify, which is required for F-1 OPT work authorization. Before signing, verify that your offer letter explicitly references OPT employment eligibility so your start date aligns with your EAD validity window.
Target roles that sit inside established headcount plans
H-1B sponsorship at tech companies like Fivetran moves faster when the role already has headcount approval. Business Operations positions tied to a specific team's annual plan, rather than newly created backfills, tend to move through internal approval and USCIS filing more smoothly.
Negotiate your start date around H-1B cap deadlines
If you're waiting on H-1B cap selection, USCIS sets an October 1 employment start date. Be direct with Fivetran's recruiting team early so your offer isn't structured around a timeline that conflicts with your registration or approval status.
Use Migrate Mate to identify active Business Operations openings
Fivetran's Business Operations roles cycle in and out of their job board quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter for open positions by visa sponsorship type so you're applying to roles that explicitly support your immigration pathway.
Understand how EB-2 and EB-3 PERM timelines affect long-term planning
If you're targeting a Green Card through Fivetran, PERM labor certification adds months before USCIS adjudication even begins. Raise Green Card sponsorship expectations during the offer stage, not after you've started, to avoid gaps in your transition from H-1B.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Fivetran sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations roles?
Yes, Fivetran sponsors H-1B visas for Business Operations positions. Because these roles are classified as specialty occupations requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher, they generally meet USCIS eligibility requirements for H-1B status. Sponsorship decisions are made on a per-role basis, so confirming sponsorship availability directly with the recruiter during the screening stage is the most reliable approach.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at Fivetran?
Applications go through Fivetran's careers page, where Business Operations roles are listed by team and location. Migrate Mate is a practical starting point to filter Fivetran openings specifically by visa sponsorship type before applying. When you reach the screening stage, be upfront about your visa status so the recruiter can confirm whether the specific role has sponsorship budget allocated.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Operations roles at Fivetran?
Business Operations professionals at Fivetran commonly work on H-1B status, F-1 OPT, or F-1 CPT. For longer-term authorization, Fivetran also supports employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3, which require PERM labor certification through DOL before USCIS adjudication. The right visa type depends on your current status, degree background, and where you are in your immigration timeline.
What qualifications does Fivetran look for in Business Operations candidates?
Fivetran's Business Operations roles typically require analytical experience supporting revenue, finance, or go-to-market functions inside a SaaS or data company. Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, SQL-based reporting, or financial modeling is common across job descriptions. Roles closer to strategy or planning often expect prior experience in consulting, investment banking, or operations at a high-growth tech company.
How does the visa sponsorship process timeline work for a Fivetran Business Operations offer?
Once you receive an offer, Fivetran's legal or HR team initiates the visa filing process. For H-1B transfers, USCIS portability rules allow you to start work as soon as a transfer petition is filed, without waiting for approval. For cap-subject H-1B cases, the October 1 start date is set by USCIS and cannot be moved, so offer timing needs to account for that fixed window.
