Target roles that align with H-1B specialty occupation requirements
Sky Lakes Medical Center's sponsorship activity centers on clinical and technical healthcare roles. Focus your applications on positions requiring a specific degree field, registered nurses, medical technologists, and allied health specialists are among the strongest fits for H-1B qualification.
Use your OPT or CPT period strategically
Sky Lakes sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, which gives international students a practical entry point. Securing a healthcare internship or post-graduation role here can build the on-the-ground experience that strengthens a future H-1B petition with the same employer.
Understand the TN visa pathway if you're Canadian or Mexican
Sky Lakes Medical Center sponsors TN visas, which are particularly accessible for Canadian and Mexican healthcare professionals. Roles like medical technologist, pharmacist, and physical therapist qualify under TN, confirm your occupation is on the approved list before applying.
Apply early in the hiring cycle to allow LCA and petition lead time
Healthcare employers like Sky Lakes must complete Department of Labor certification before filing an H-1B petition. Starting the process early, ideally months before your intended start date, gives HR and legal teams the runway needed to complete sponsorship without rushing.
Highlight licensure and credentialing readiness in your application
For clinical roles at a medical center, state licensure is often a prerequisite for sponsorship. Demonstrating that you're already licensed or actively pursuing Oregon licensure signals to Sky Lakes that sponsorship won't be delayed by credentialing hurdles.
Browse verified sponsoring employers before you apply
Not every healthcare employer is equally willing to sponsor, track record matters. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your effort on medical centers like Sky Lakes that have an established record of supporting international hires.

Plan for a multi-step process that takes several months from offer to start date.
