Align Your Background to Snowflake's CE Profile
Snowflake's Customer Engineers are expected to demonstrate hands-on data cloud expertise, not just sales support. Before applying, document experience with cloud data warehousing, SQL optimization, or partner integrations like dbt or Informatica so your resume signals direct role fit.
Target Roles in Snowflake's Enterprise Segments
Snowflake structures its Customer Engineering team by vertical and segment. Roles tied to financial services, healthcare, or strategic accounts tend to have longer pipelines and more structured sponsorship workflows, giving you more predictable timelines through the H-1B or PERM process.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Sponsorship Openings
Not every open Customer Engineer listing at Snowflake will explicitly state visa sponsorship availability. Use Migrate Mate to surface roles confirmed to support sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where your work authorization situation won't disqualify you late in the process.
Prepare Your OPT or CPT Timeline Before Interviewing
If you're on F-1 status, USCIS requires your OPT employment start date to align with your authorized period. Confirm your I-20 end date and EAD card validity before accepting a Snowflake offer, since their onboarding timelines can extend four to six weeks after an offer is signed.
Clarify H-1B Cap Timing During the Offer Stage
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed once per year, with the registration window typically opening in March. If you receive an offer outside that window, discuss with Snowflake's immigration team whether a cap-exempt entity or an interim authorization like OPT STEM extension can bridge the gap.
Get Your Technical Certifications Documented for LCA Filing
DOL requires employers to certify a prevailing wage for the specific role title and location on your Labor Condition Application. Having Snowflake Data Cloud or AWS certifications documented strengthens the specialty occupation argument and reduces the likelihood of a USCIS Request for Evidence.

Find Customer Engineer at Snowflake JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Snowflake sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Engineers?
Yes, Snowflake sponsors H-1B visas for Customer Engineer roles. The company has an established immigration program and works with external counsel to manage filings. Customer Engineering is classified as a specialty occupation, which satisfies the core H-1B requirement. If you're cap-subject, your petition would need to be filed in line with the annual USCIS registration window, typically in March for an October 1 start.
Which visa types are commonly used for Customer Engineer roles at Snowflake?
H-1B is the most common pathway for full-time Customer Engineers at Snowflake. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for early-career hires or internships where degree requirements align. TN is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. For longer-term immigration, Snowflake also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, typically initiated after an employee has been in role for a period of time.
How do I apply for Customer Engineer jobs at Snowflake?
Applications go through Snowflake's careers portal, where Customer Engineer roles are listed by region, segment, and specialty area. To find roles that explicitly support visa sponsorship, browse listings through Migrate Mate, which filters for positions where international candidates are actively considered. Before applying, tailor your resume to reflect data platform experience, cloud architecture, and customer-facing technical delivery, since those are the core competencies Snowflake screens for at the resume stage.
What qualifications does Snowflake expect for Customer Engineer candidates?
Snowflake's Customer Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation standard for H-1B purposes. Beyond the degree, interviewers focus on experience with cloud data platforms, the ability to run technical discovery with enterprise accounts, and familiarity with the modern data stack. Candidates without a four-year degree may face more scrutiny during the H-1B petition process.
How do I navigate the visa filing timeline after receiving a Snowflake offer?
The timeline depends on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your EAD validity covers Snowflake's onboarding window and that your employer registers you in E-Verify, which is required for OPT employment. For H-1B cap filings, Snowflake's legal team will need to submit a DOL Labor Condition Application before filing the I-129 petition with USCIS. Premium processing, which USCIS currently adjudicates within 15 business days, is often used to reduce uncertainty during onboarding.
