Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B eligibility for Customer Success Engineering roles requires a degree in a specific field like computer science, information systems, or engineering. Frame your transcripts and credentials around the technical requirements Snowflake lists in job postings before applying.
Target enterprise-facing CSE roles deliberately
Snowflake hires Customer Success Engineers across named account, strategic, and commercial segments. Roles tied to enterprise or strategic accounts tend to involve more complex technical scope, which strengthens the specialty occupation argument in your H-1B petition.
Verify your OPT STEM extension eligibility early
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your degree field qualifies for a 24-month STEM extension using the official DHS STEM Designated Degree Program List. Snowflake is E-Verify enrolled, which is required to use STEM OPT, so that part of the equation is covered.
Negotiate your start date around H-1B cap timing
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start. If Snowflake extends an offer before the registration window, plan your final interview stages for January through March so the timeline aligns with filing without creating a gap in employment authorization.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open CSE roles at Snowflake
Snowflake posts Customer Success Engineering roles across multiple locations and segments throughout the year. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Snowflake CSE openings that align with your visa type, so you're not sifting through roles that won't support your status.
Clarify PERM timing if you're targeting permanent residence
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship through PERM requires Snowflake to run a supervised recruitment process with DOL before filing your immigrant petition. Raise this conversation once you have an offer in hand, and ask whether the role is classified as a specialty worker for EB-2 purposes.

Does Snowflake sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Success Engineers?
Yes, Snowflake sponsors H-1B visas for Customer Success Engineering roles. The function involves deep technical work with Snowflake's data cloud platform, which generally supports the specialty occupation requirement USCIS uses to evaluate H-1B petitions. Your degree field should align with the technical requirements listed in the specific job posting you're applying for.
How do I apply for Customer Success Engineering jobs at Snowflake?
Applications go through Snowflake's careers portal, where Customer Success Engineering roles are listed by segment and region. You can also browse current openings on Migrate Mate, which filters Snowflake positions by visa sponsorship eligibility. Tailor your application to highlight platform experience and enterprise customer-facing technical work, since Snowflake CSE roles typically require both.
Which visa types does Snowflake commonly use for Customer Success Engineering roles?
Snowflake supports several visa categories for this function, including H-1B, F-1 OPT and CPT, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, J-1 for qualifying exchange visitors, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for permanent residence. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in the immigration process.
What qualifications does Snowflake expect for Customer Success Engineering roles?
Snowflake typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, combined with hands-on experience in cloud data platforms, SQL, or data engineering. Enterprise customer-facing experience is a strong differentiator. For H-1B purposes, your degree field should directly align with the technical requirements in the job description.
How do I time a Customer Success Engineering offer at Snowflake around my visa status?
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility before your initial OPT expires and verify Snowflake's E-Verify enrollment covers your worksite. For H-1B cap cases, USCIS opens registration in March with October 1 as the earliest start date. Build your interview timeline so an offer can be in place before the registration window opens.
