Align your portfolio to Snowflake's data stack
Snowflake recruits Data Contributors who can demonstrate hands-on experience with cloud-native pipelines, SQL-based transformations, and structured schema design. Tailor your GitHub projects or work samples to reflect these before applying.
Target roles that match your current status
Snowflake sponsors across H-1B, OPT, CPT, TN, and J-1 categories, but not every open Data Contributor role triggers the same petition pathway. Identify which visa type applies to you before submitting, so you can frame your status clearly in early recruiter conversations.
Start your OPT application before your program ends
USCIS recommends filing your OPT EAD at least 90 days before your program end date. If you're targeting a Snowflake Data Contributor role as a new graduate, time your applications so an offer can align with your OPT start window.
Understand how Snowflake's H-1B process is sequenced
For H-1B hires, Snowflake files a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting Form I-129 to USCIS. Knowing this sequence helps you ask the right questions during offer negotiation and set realistic start date expectations with the recruiting team.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Data Contributor roles
Snowflake posts Data Contributor openings across multiple locations and seniority levels. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles that match your visa type so you're not spending time on positions that don't fit your sponsorship situation.
Prepare your immigration documents before the offer stage
Have your transcripts, degree certificates, and any prior visa approvals or I-94 records organized before Snowflake's immigration team engages. Delays in document collection are one of the most common reasons petition timelines slip after an offer is accepted.

Find Data Contributor at Snowflake JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Snowflake sponsor H-1B visas for Data Contributors?
Yes, Snowflake sponsors H-1B visas for Data Contributor roles. The process involves Snowflake filing a Labor Condition Application with the DOL to certify the offered wage meets prevailing levels, followed by an I-129 petition with USCIS. Because H-1B sponsorship is employer-driven, you'll need a confirmed offer before the petition process begins.
Which visa types does Snowflake commonly sponsor for Data Contributor roles?
Snowflake sponsors a broad range of visa categories for Data Contributor positions, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, education level, and current immigration status. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles.
What qualifications does Snowflake expect for Data Contributor positions?
Snowflake typically looks for Data Contributors with a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, data engineering, or a related technical field. Practical experience with cloud data platforms, SQL, and pipeline tooling carries significant weight. For H-1B purposes, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning the position requires at least a relevant bachelor's degree.
How do I apply for Data Contributor jobs at Snowflake?
Browse open Data Contributor roles on Migrate Mate, where listings are filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can identify positions that match your status. Once you find a relevant opening, apply directly through Snowflake's careers portal. Be prepared to discuss your visa situation early in the recruiter screening, as Snowflake's immigration team gets involved after an offer is extended.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Data Contributor role at Snowflake?
Timeline depends on your visa category. OPT and CPT authorization is handled through your university and typically takes 90 days or more for OPT EAD processing by USCIS. H-1B petitions filed under standard processing can take three to six months after the April lottery. TN status for Canadian nationals can often be obtained at a port of entry on the same day as travel.
