Verify Your Licensure Transfers Across State Lines
Mental Health licensure in Texas is state-specific. Before applying, confirm your LCSW, LPC, or equivalent credential is eligible for Texas licensure through the relevant state board, as TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL cannot begin sponsorship until you hold a valid in-state license.
Target Roles Aligned With Your Visa Category
TN visa eligibility for Mental Health roles is narrow and generally covers licensed psychologists, not counselors or social workers. Confirm your role and credentials fall within the approved TN professional categories before positioning yourself as TN-eligible to TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL's HR team.
Use OPT Strategically to Build Clinical Hours
Many Mental Health roles require supervised post-degree clinical hours for full licensure. Starting under F-1 OPT at TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL lets you accumulate those hours while demonstrating fit, which strengthens the employer's case when they file your H-1B petition with USCIS.
Get Your Credentials Evaluated Before Applying
If your Mental Health degree is from outside the U.S., obtain a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before submitting applications. TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL's credentialing team will require this during the hospital privileging process, and delays there can push back your visa filing timeline.

Find Mental Health at TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL sponsor H-1B visas for Mental Healths?
Yes, TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Mental Health roles. Sponsorship is tied to the role meeting H-1B specialty occupation requirements, which typically means a position requiring at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as psychology, social work, or counseling. USCIS reviews both the role and your credentials during the petition, so the job description and your degree need to align clearly.
How do I apply for Mental Health jobs at TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL?
Search for current Mental Health openings on Migrate Mate, where you can filter by visa sponsorship type and apply directly. Once you identify a role, tailor your application to reflect your licensure status in Texas and any relevant clinical specializations. TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL's hiring process for behavioral health roles typically involves a clinical interview and credentialing review before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL commonly use for Mental Health roles?
TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Mental Health positions. H-1B is the most common path for long-term sponsorship. OPT and CPT work well as entry points for recent graduates building clinical hours. TN eligibility applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in specific licensed psychology roles, not all Mental Health job categories.
What qualifications does TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL expect for Mental Health roles?
Most Mental Health roles at TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL require a master's or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related clinical field. Active Texas state licensure or demonstrated eligibility for licensure is typically required before your start date. Roles in inpatient psychiatric settings may also require experience with crisis intervention, de-escalation protocols, or specific patient populations such as adolescents or adults with co-occurring disorders.
How do I time my visa filing when accepting a Mental Health offer at TRUSTPOINT HOSPITAL?
Timing depends on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration and whether a STEM extension applies, since most Mental Health degrees don't qualify for the 24-month STEM extension. H-1B petitions filed in April have an October 1 start date at the earliest. Build your offer negotiation and any clinical onboarding requirements around that window to avoid a gap in work authorization.
