Certify Your Data Center Credentials Early
VAST Data's infrastructure roles often require vendor certifications in networking, storage, or Linux systems administration. Having certifications like RHCSA or relevant Cisco credentials documented and current before you apply removes a common credentialing gap that delays offers.
Target VAST Data's Infrastructure Engineering Openings
VAST Data posts Data Center roles tied to its disaggregated storage architecture, so filter job listings for terms like 'NVMe,' 'DASE,' or 'high-performance storage.' These signal roles aligned with VAST's core platform, where your technical fit will be clearest to hiring managers.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Verified Sponsorship Listings
Search Migrate Mate to browse VAST Data's open Data Center positions filtered by visa sponsorship type. This saves time by surfacing only roles where sponsorship is confirmed, so you're not chasing listings that exclude international candidates.
Align Your Resume to VAST Data's Stack
VAST Data's platform runs on all-flash, scale-out infrastructure. Tailor your resume to highlight experience with object storage, high-throughput networking, or hyperscale environments. Generic data center experience reads weaker than targeted alignment with VAST's architecture.
Understand H-1B Cap Timing Before Accepting an Offer
If you're not already in H-1B status, USCIS only accepts cap-subject H-1B petitions once per year with an October 1 start date. Discuss this timeline with VAST Data's HR team early so both sides can plan around the registration window and any F-1 OPT bridge period.
Confirm LCA Filing Before Your Start Date
VAST Data must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition reaches USCIS. Ask the HR or legal team for LCA confirmation and your prevailing wage level. Delays at the DOL stage can push back your start date even after an offer is signed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does VAST Data sponsor H-1B visas for Data Centers?
Yes, VAST Data sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Data Center roles. Sponsorship depends on the specific position, your qualifications, and timing relative to the H-1B cap registration window. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, VAST Data also supports that status, which can bridge you into an H-1B petition without interrupting employment.
How do I apply for Data Center jobs at VAST Data?
Applications go through VAST Data's careers page, where Data Center and infrastructure roles are listed directly. Before applying, review the job description for stack-specific requirements like NVMe, RDMA networking, or Linux administration. You can also browse and filter VAST Data's open Data Center roles by visa type on Migrate Mate to confirm sponsorship eligibility upfront.
Which visa types are commonly used for Data Center roles at VAST Data?
VAST Data supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for eligible candidates. H-1B is the most common long-term path for Data Center professionals. F-1 OPT and CPT work well for candidates still within their post-graduation authorization window, and TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles.
What qualifications does VAST Data expect for Data Center roles?
VAST Data's Data Center roles typically require hands-on experience with enterprise or hyperscale infrastructure, including storage systems, high-speed networking, and server hardware. Familiarity with Linux, NVMe-based architectures, or all-flash storage platforms is a clear advantage. Vendor certifications in networking or systems administration strengthen your application for more senior infrastructure positions.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Data Center offer at VAST Data?
For H-1B sponsorship, the DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application before USCIS processes the petition. Standard USCIS adjudication can take several months, though premium processing reduces that to around 15 business days. If you're bridging from F-1 OPT, plan for your OPT expiration date when negotiating a start date with VAST Data's HR team.
