Align your credentials with VAST Data's stack
VAST Data's platform centers on NVMe, object storage, and high-throughput data pipelines. Frame your resume around experience managing data at scale in AI or cloud-native environments. A background that maps directly to their architecture reduces friction during technical screening.
Verify your status before CPT or OPT expires
If you're on F-1 OPT, VAST Data can file your H-1B before your OPT expires, but timing matters. USCIS requires the petition to be filed well ahead of your OPT end date. Confirm your I-20 end date and leave at least 90 days of buffer before your authorization lapses.
Target VAST Data's enterprise and federal verticals
Data Manager openings at VAST Data often support enterprise accounts or government deployments, where data governance and compliance experience carries real weight. Highlighting familiarity with regulated data environments signals fit for their highest-priority pipeline roles.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Data Manager roles
VAST Data posts Data Manager roles across multiple hiring cycles. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for positions open to visa sponsorship, so you're only applying where the path forward is clear and confirmed.
Clarify TN eligibility before your offer stage
Canadian and Mexican nationals can enter on TN status for certain computer-related roles, but the job duties must align precisely with a qualifying USMCA occupational category. Confirm with your immigration attorney that a Data Manager title at VAST Data meets the DOL's published TN criteria before accepting an offer.
Ask about LCA timing during offer negotiation
VAST Data must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B petition can be submitted to USCIS. Asking HR when they plan to initiate the LCA gives you a real timeline and signals you understand the process, which tends to accelerate internal approvals.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does VAST Data sponsor H-1B visas for Data Managers?
Yes, VAST Data sponsors H-1B visas for Data Manager roles. As a technology company hiring in competitive data infrastructure markets, they participate in the H-1B process for qualified technical candidates. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every opening, so confirming with the recruiter early in the process is the practical first step.
Which visa types does VAST Data commonly use for Data Manager roles?
VAST Data supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Data Manager positions. H-1B is the primary pathway for longer-term employment. OPT and CPT are available for recent graduates in early-stage hiring. TN applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying computer or systems roles under USMCA.
How do I apply for Data Manager jobs at VAST Data?
You can browse and apply for Data Manager roles at VAST Data through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions open to visa sponsorship. From there, applications typically move through an initial recruiter screen, a technical interview focused on data architecture and pipeline experience, and a final-round discussion with the hiring team.
What qualifications does VAST Data expect for Data Manager positions?
VAST Data typically looks for experience managing large-scale data environments, familiarity with distributed storage systems or cloud-native data platforms, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and infrastructure teams. Backgrounds in AI data pipelines, NVMe storage, or enterprise data governance align well with their product and customer base.
How do I plan my timeline if VAST Data is sponsoring my H-1B?
The H-1B cap lottery opens each April for an October 1 start date. If your OPT or current status expires before October, VAST Data can request a cap-gap extension from USCIS to bridge the gap. Factor in at least four to six months from offer acceptance to petition filing, and align your job search timeline to the annual H-1B registration window.
