Warby Parker was founded with a mission: to inspire and impact the world with vision, purpose, and style.
We're constantly asking ourselves how we can do more and make a greater impact, and that starts by reimagining everything that a company and industry can be. We want to demonstrate that a business can scale while doing good in the world, without charging a premium for it. And we’ve learned that it takes creativity, empathy, and innovation to achieve that goal.
Since the day we launched in 2010, we’ve pioneered ideas, designed products, and developed technologies that help people see. We offer everything you need for happier eyes at a price that leaves you with money in your pocket, from designer-quality glasses and contacts to eye exams and vision tests, and you can meet us online, at our stores, or even in your home. Wherever and whenever you need it, we’re there to make exceptional vision care simple and accessible.
Ultimately, we believe in vision for all, which is why for every pair of glasses or sunglasses we sell, a pair of glasses is distributed to someone in need through our Buy a Pair, Give a Pair program.

Obtain state licensure before applying
Warby Parker Optometrist roles require an active O.D. license in the state where you'll practice. Confirm your foreign credentials qualify for the NBEO exams and begin the state board application early, since licensure can take months.
Target retail clinic markets with high demand
Warby Parker concentrates hiring in metro areas where retail foot traffic is high. Focusing your applications on cities with multiple Warby Parker locations increases your odds of landing an offer where the employer is already set up to sponsor.
Clarify H-1B sponsorship intent early in interviews
Optometry qualifies as a specialty occupation under H-1B rules because the role requires a Doctor of Optometry degree. Bring this up directly once you reach the hiring manager stage so both sides understand the timeline before an offer is extended.
Understand how TN status applies to your situation
Canadian and Mexican nationals with an O.D. degree may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA, which bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely. Confirm with Warby Parker's HR team whether they process TN applications in-house or through outside counsel.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Optometrist roles
Warby Parker posts Optometrist openings across many locations simultaneously, and listings move fast. Search Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Warby Parker roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Plan your timeline around the H-1B cap schedule
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year, with employment start dates no earlier than October 1. If you receive an offer outside that window, ask Warby Parker whether they'll file for the next cap season or explore a cap-exempt bridge arrangement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Warby Parker sponsor H-1B visas for Optometrists?
Yes, Warby Parker has sponsored H-1B visas for Optometrist roles. The position qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires a Doctor of Optometry degree, satisfying the core H-1B eligibility criterion. Sponsorship decisions are made on a per-hire basis, so you'll want to confirm intent with the recruiting team before investing significant time in the process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Optometrist roles at Warby Parker?
H-1B is the most common work visa for Optometrists at Warby Parker, given the degree-level requirement. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status under USMCA, which is faster and avoids the lottery. For long-term permanent residency, Warby Parker has also supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for clinical staff. F-1 OPT and CPT are options for new O.D. graduates still within their authorized training period.
What qualifications and experience does Warby Parker expect for Optometrist roles?
Warby Parker requires a Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program and an active state license in the location where you'll practice. Roles are patient-facing in retail clinic settings, so experience with high-volume or retail-adjacent practices is valued. Therapeutic licensure is typically required since Warby Parker locations handle a range of ocular conditions beyond routine refraction.
How do I apply for Optometrist jobs at Warby Parker?
You can browse and apply for Optometrist openings directly through Warby Parker's careers page, or use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Warby Parker roles that include visa sponsorship. Because Warby Parker posts openings across many locations at once, searching by city and filtering for sponsorship-eligible roles saves significant time. Apply as early as possible since retail clinic roles fill quickly.
How do I time my application around the H-1B filing process?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each year in March, and approved petitions carry an October 1 start date. If you're targeting Warby Parker, aim to secure an offer by late January or February so HR has time to register you before the window closes. Missing the cap cycle means waiting a full year, so timing your job search to align with the registration period is practical rather than optional.
