Western Horizon Living Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve in a hybrid Infection Control and Staff Education role for our 40-bed skilled nursing facility. This role is responsible for leading the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) while also supporting staff development through education, training, and competency validation. The Infection Control & Staff Education Nurse plays a key role in promoting resident safety, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Infection Control
- Lead and manage the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) in accordance with CMS §483.80, CDC, and state guidelines.
- Conduct ongoing infection surveillance, data collection, analysis, and trending of healthcare-associated infections.
- Develop, implement, and maintain infection prevention policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor infection control processes throughout the facility, including hand hygiene, PPE utilization, isolation precautions, and environmental cleaning practices.
