Entry Level Construction Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level construction engineer job?
Focus on internship experience, senior capstone projects, and any site exposure you gained during your degree. Employers at this level look for candidates who understand construction drawings, scheduling basics, and safety compliance. A clean resume that highlights hands-on coursework, software skills like AutoCAD or Procore, and any field hours gives entry level applicants a real edge over candidates with classroom experience alone.
Which companies hire entry level construction engineers?
Companies hiring entry level construction engineers right now include Terracon Consultants, Jobot, and Dennis, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of general contractors, civil engineering firms, infrastructure developers, and government project owners actively building out their junior talent pipelines.
Are there remote entry level construction engineer jobs?
Yes, though most roles at this level are on-site given the hands-on nature of construction work. About 7% of entry level construction engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically covering design coordination, estimating, or project support functions that do not require daily field presence.
Are these new grad construction engineer jobs?
Yes. The listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior construction engineer roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-op terms toward the requirement, or explicitly accepts a strong portfolio in place of full-time work history. Look for phrases like "entry level," "new graduates welcome," or "0-2 years" in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level construction engineers?
Entry Level construction engineer roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Construction & Real Estate, and Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at the junior level because ongoing infrastructure investment, commercial development, and public works projects create consistent demand for new engineers who can grow into project leadership over time.
