We're looking for a Project Engineer, APM or PM for civil and water infrastructure who wants more than just another project—someone who takes pride in building quality infrastructure, leading successful teams, and delivering projects the right way.
This role is ideal for a project manager with experience in heavy civil and water/wastewater construction who understands how to manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and owner relationships while keeping projects on track. Whether you've managed treatment plants, pump stations, underground utilities, or other civil infrastructure projects, we'd like to talk.
You'll work closely with experienced superintendents and company leadership, with minimal layers between project teams and ownership. We value leaders who communicate well, solve problems, build strong relationships with owners and engineers, and take ownership of project success from start to finish.
We offer a competitive compensation package, strong benefits, bonus opportunities, and the chance to build challenging infrastructure projects with a well-established and growing Nashville contractor.
The ideal candidate comes with prior treatment plant experience, building water quality infrastructure, lift stations, pump stations, including but not limited to experience with dirt, yard piping, structural concrete, inside mechanical and process piping.

Construction Engineer Jobs in Nashville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction engineer job in Nashville?
Target Nashville's strongest hiring sectors: commercial development along the Gulch and Midtown, municipal infrastructure through the Metro Nashville Public Works pipeline, and the city's expanding transit and highway projects. General contractors managing large mixed-use and multifamily builds hire steadily, as do civil engineering consultancies tied to Nashville's growth corridor from Brentwood to Hendersonville. Candidates with BIM proficiency, OSHA 30 certification, and local project references move faster in this market.
Which companies hire construction engineers in Nashville?
Nashville construction engineer roles are posted by JE Dunn Construction, Brasfield & Gorrie, and HDR and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Nashville's hiring mix includes regional general contractors, national infrastructure firms with Tennessee operations, and the Metro Nashville government, which regularly staffs capital projects across the city.
Are there remote construction engineer jobs in Nashville?
Yes, but only for a narrow slice of the work. Construction engineering is predominantly site-dependent, so fully remote roles are rare. About 13% of construction engineer openings tied to Nashville are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be estimation, scheduling, or design-coordination roles. Field inspection, site supervision, and quality control positions require in-person presence on Nashville projects.
How can I get a construction engineer job in Nashville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Nashville is through a project engineer or field engineer assistant role with a mid-size general contractor working the city's active multifamily and commercial builds. Nashville's sustained construction boom means local firms hire more entry-level staff than slower markets. A co-op or internship with Metro Nashville's capital projects office, or with a civil consultancy supporting TDOT work in the region, can open doors quickly for new graduates.
Which industries hire the most construction engineers in Nashville?
Most construction engineer openings in Nashville sit in Construction & Real Estate, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Nashville's population growth and the city's ongoing transit investment and commercial redevelopment have made those sectors the most active sources of sustained construction engineering demand.
