The Warehouse Manager at Habitat for Humanity Tucson (HFHT) is a hands-on operational leader responsible for managing the warehouse, panel shop, and production activities at the CHUCK Center. This non‑exempt role combines active supervision of the worksite, logistics management, and volunteer leadership with direct involvement in day‑to‑day operations.

The Warehouse Manager takes initiative, leads from the floor, and is accountable for operational readiness, safety, material procurement, and volunteer productivity. This position is expected to elevate warehouse and production operations through process improvement, volunteer supervision, and effective resource management in support of construction, workforce development, and community engagement goals.

This role requires regular physical presence, operational decision‑making, and the ability to flex work hours as needed to support volunteer schedules, deliveries, and production demands.

Job Duties Include:

• Lead daily warehouse, panel shop, and production operations, ensuring consistent readiness for volunteer groups, training programs, construction schedules, and community outreach activities
• Prepare for shifts in production with profit projects such as picnic tables, sheds, micro-shelter, and ADUs.
• Establish and maintain effective workflows for setup, teardown, storage, staging, and material movement.
• Direct and supervise daily productivity and adjust assignments, layouts, or processes to meet operational goals.
• Create weekly and monthly work scheduling and planning agendas.
• Forecast framing and construction needs and procure materials according to upcoming project in advance of needs.
• Promote and secure a safe and productive work environment, identify inefficiencies or risks and implement improvements to increase safety, quality, and production numbers.
• Manage and supervise AmeriCorps members and volunteer activities by directing daily tasks, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and on-the-job training.
• Create panel production work orders using Sketchup, coordinating with construction staff to create workflow plans.
• Lead quality assurance through inspection and monitoring of completed panels.
• Serve as the escalation point for operational issues during shifts.
• Lead and direct volunteers daily, including facilitating morning meetings to communicate goals, assign tasks, and reinforce safety and mission alignment.
• Foster a positive, inclusive culture through clear communication, encouragement, and accountability.
• Take initiative to prepare for and manage large volunteer groups, corporate teams, and special events.
• Establish day‑to‑day safety oversight for warehouse and production operations, ensuring compliance with HFHT policies and applicable safety regulations.
• Conduct safety orientations and ongoing monitoring of proper tool, equipment, and forklift usage.
• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard‑free workspaces along with reporting of any facilities related necessities
• Report incidents, participate in investigations, and lead corrective actions as required.
• Oversee receiving, loading, unloading, staging, and delivery coordination of materials with construction team
• Operate forklifts and material‑handling equipment as needed to support daily operations and job site deliveries.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance with material handling equipment such as forklifts, used on premises.
• Maintain organized and accessible inventory systems and engage volunteers in warehouse upkeep with tools, supplies, materials, and equipment
• Coordinate with vendors, donors, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery, accurate tracking, and proper storage of materials.
• Partner closely with the Workforce Development Manager to prepare and adapt warehouse operations for training and educational programming.
• Collaborate with construction, volunteer engagement, development, and operations staff to align logistics with organizational priorities.
• Provide operational input into planning, scheduling, and resource allocation related to production and warehouse activities.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, production, construction support, or volunteer/staff supervision, preferably in a mission‑driven or nonprofit environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email is required; ability to use technology to track inventory, schedules, and communications.
• Demonstrated ability to lead people, manage daily operations, and take initiative in a hands-on environment.
• Forklift operation experience and/or certification (or ability to become certified).
• OSHA 10 training
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in active warehouse and construction settings.
• Availability to work flexible hours as required by operational needs.
• Experience supervising staff or leading teams in operational, warehouse, or construction environments.
• Framing and/or carpentry experience preferred, with familiarity in panelized construction methods a plus.
• Experience using SketchUp or similar drafting/design software preferred for layout planning, material staging, or workflow visualization.
• AmeriCorps alumni, workforce development, or training program experience.
• Nonprofit or volunteer‑driven operations experience.

This is a non‑exempt, hourly position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and aligned with HFHT’s established pay structure. This role requires both independent judgment and direct involvement in the performance of production and warehouse tasks. Overtime may be required during peak volunteer periods, deliveries, or special events and will be compensated in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
