Mid Level Construction Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level construction manager job?
Position yourself around project ownership: highlight budgets you managed, schedules you held, and subcontractors you coordinated directly. Employers at this level want evidence you can run a project without constant supervision, so lead your resume with outcomes and scope rather than duties. Certifications like OSHA 30 or an active PMP pursuit strengthen your application considerably.
Which companies hire mid level construction managers?
Companies hiring mid level construction managers right now include Walbridge, Turner & Townsend Pty Limited, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of national general contractors, regional specialty firms, and developers managing their own build programs.
Are there remote mid level construction manager jobs?
Yes, though most roles require significant on-site presence. About 20% of mid level construction manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to involve pre-construction planning, estimating, or owner-side program management rather than active field supervision.
How do I move up to a mid level construction manager role?
Growth from entry level into a mid level construction manager role comes from accumulating genuine project responsibility over time. That means taking on subcontractor coordination, managing RFI and submittal logs independently, and seeing at least one project through from groundbreaking to closeout. Demonstrating measurable impact, like keeping a project on schedule or resolving a scope conflict, signals readiness for the next tier.
Which industries hire the most mid level construction managers?
Mid Level construction manager roles concentrate in Construction & Real Estate, Consulting & Professional Services, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive consistent hiring at this level because they sustain large capital project pipelines that require experienced managers who can take ownership without senior-level hand-holding.
