Construction Manager Jobs in Raleigh: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a construction manager job in Raleigh?
The strongest path into Raleigh's construction manager market is through its commercial and mixed-use development boom, where general contractors and development firms concentrated in downtown and North Hills hire consistently. Healthcare campus expansion at major medical centers and the wave of life sciences facilities near Research Triangle Park also generate steady demand. Candidates with LEED accreditation, Procore proficiency, or experience on phased occupied-building projects stand out with Raleigh employers.
Which companies hire construction managers in Raleigh?
Raleigh construction manager roles are posted by Siemens Energy, S E & M Constructors, and CBRE and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Raleigh's market includes a mix of regional general contractors, national ENR-ranked firms with local offices, and owner-developer groups active in the city's ongoing commercial and residential pipeline.
Are there remote construction manager jobs in Raleigh?
Yes, though remote work is limited for construction managers since most roles require on-site presence during active build phases. About 21% of construction manager openings tied to Raleigh are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, skewing toward pre-construction, estimating, and program management functions. In Raleigh, hybrid arrangements are most common at owner-side corporate real estate and large public-sector agencies rather than on the GC side.
How can I get a construction manager job in Raleigh with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Raleigh is an assistant project manager or field engineer role with a regional general contractor or subcontractor working on the city's active commercial pipeline. Firms building out North Hills mixed-use phases and downtown office-to-residential conversions regularly bring on early-career candidates. A degree in construction management or civil engineering from NC State or UNC Charlotte, paired with an internship on a Raleigh job site, is the combination local hiring managers cite most often.
Which industries hire the most construction managers in Raleigh?
Most construction manager openings in Raleigh sit in Construction & Real Estate, Energy, and Manufacturing, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Raleigh's sustained population growth, expanding healthcare campuses, and a pipeline of mixed-use and life sciences facilities tied to Research Triangle Park keep those sectors at the front of local hiring demand.
