Rycon’s portfolio includes projects in aviation, healthcare, higher education, industrial/warehouse, commercial, multi-unit residential, student housing, food service/dining, data centers/mission critical, retail, financial, self-storage, government/municipality, and LEED facilities. We have an in-house Architectural Finishes & Specialty Fabrication Division that ships/installs nationally.
We are seeking an experienced project engineer at our Charlotte office.
What you will do:
- Working closely with PMs and Superintendents on the day-to-day operations of construction sites.
- Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Working with submittals, RFIs, and change management.
- Assisting in contract buyouts.
- Working with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Developing project schedules and phasing plans.
- Attending and documenting project meetings.
- Supporting projects with exposure to multifamily construction environments.
What you will need to be successful:
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the commercial construction field, ideally including multifamily, paired with a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- A working understanding of construction cost accounting.
- Computer skills required: Procore, scheduling software (P6 preferred), and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong proficiency using the Procore project management system.
- Ability to develop and maintain schedules in P6 is preferred but not required.
