Overview. Bonitz of Georgia is seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Service Manager to lead and grow our roofing service division. This position is responsible for overseeing service operations, managing repair and maintenance crews, ensuring exceptional customer service, business development, and driving the successful execution of commercial roofing repair projects throughout Georgia and South Carolina.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical roofing knowledge with leadership, operational, customer relationship, and sales skills. This role is responsible for managing service personnel, coordinating schedules, developing customer relationships, identifying service and maintenance opportunities, and meeting production and sales goals.
Bonitz of Georgia is a family-owned commercial construction company with a trusted reputation since 1956, specializing in commercial roofing installation, maintenance, and repairs throughout the Southeast.
Key Responsibilities
Service Operations Management
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the commercial roofing service department.
- Manage service crews, foremen, and technicians to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
- Coordinate scheduling, dispatching, and resource allocation for service calls, leak investigations, repairs, and maintenance projects.
- Monitor department performance, productivity, and profitability.
- Develop and implement processes that improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
Customer Relations & Business Development
- Serve as the primary point of contact for service customers.
- Conduct roof inspections, condition assessments, and leak investigations.
- Develop repair recommendations and maintenance solutions for customers.
- Prepare and review estimates, proposals, and service agreements.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, property managers, consultants, and general contractors.
- Identify opportunities to expand service work and recurring maintenance programs.
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop service personnel.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and customer service.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
- Ensure crews are properly trained on roofing systems, equipment, and manufacturer requirements.
Safety & Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular job-site inspections and quality control reviews.
- Oversee proper maintenance and utilization of company vehicles, equipment, and tools.
- Ensure accurate completion of service reports, work orders, and project documentation.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of commercial roofing and sales experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including:
- TPO
- EPDM
- PVC
- Built-Up Roofing (BUR)
- Modified Bitumen
- Metal Roofing Systems
- Roof Coatings
- Tile and Shingle Systems
- Experience managing service crews and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to read plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficiency with estimating, project documentation, and service management software.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- Previous experience managing a commercial roofing service department.
- Experience with maintenance programs and recurring service contracts.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders and access rooftops as required.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Normal vision and hearing.
Pay & Benefits
- $70,000-$75,000 annual salary, based on experience
- Annual bonus (sales & performance-based)
- Per diem for overnight, out-of-town work
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days
- Paid time off — starts accruing immediately
- 401(k) eligibility after 6 months
