Consulting Intern Jobs in Idaho: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a consulting intern in Idaho?
The most direct path is enrolling in a business, economics, or quantitative program at an Idaho institution such as Boise State University, the University of Idaho, or Idaho State University, then applying to internship postings during your sophomore or junior year. Consulting internships in Idaho do not require a state-issued license. A strong GPA, relevant coursework in data analysis or strategy, and participation in case competitions or consulting clubs improve your odds considerably.
Which companies hire consulting interns in Idaho?
Companies currently hiring consulting interns in Idaho include ICCU, Fred Meyer, and Saint Alphonsus Health System, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Idaho's technology manufacturing base and energy sector mean that many of the most consistent intern programs sit within large operational companies rather than traditional standalone consulting firms.
Which Idaho cities have the most consulting intern jobs?
Boise, Idaho Falls, and Lewiston account for the largest share of consulting intern openings in Idaho. Boise drives most of the volume as the state's primary corporate and government hub, while Idaho Falls benefits from proximity to the Idaho National Laboratory and energy sector employers, and Coeur d'Alene attracts regional professional services and financial advisory roles tied to its growing business community.
Are there remote consulting intern jobs in Idaho?
Yes, and they are more available than in many fields, since consulting work is largely analytical and document-driven. About 0% of consulting intern openings tied to Idaho are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how adaptable the role is to distributed work. Research, data modeling, and client presentation preparation are the tasks most commonly performed remotely, while client meetings and team workshops typically remain in person.
How can I get hired as a consulting intern in Idaho with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying through university internship programs before you have formal work history. Boise State University's College of Business and Economics and the University of Idaho's business school both maintain employer partnerships that connect students to Idaho companies early. Volunteering for a student consulting club, completing a relevant certification in data analytics, or taking on a campus research role that mirrors consulting work gives you the project experience Idaho employers look for in first-time candidates.
Where can I find and apply to consulting intern jobs in Idaho?
You can find and apply to consulting intern jobs in Idaho on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings by city or specialty to find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
