Madison Avenue Insurance Group Inc. is expanding into Boise, Idaho, and opening a new downtown office on December 15, 2026. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and business-minded college intern to join our team as we grow our presence in the Treasure Valley.
This is more than an internship. You will work directly with an experienced team at an established, independent insurance brokerage, gaining hands-on experience in business development, sales reporting, marketing, business administration, and accounting support.
Our goal is to help you develop practical business skills that prepare you for a successful career. For the right candidate, this position may lead to full-time employment after graduation.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This paid, part-time internship is designed for a college student interested in business, marketing, sales, finance, entrepreneurship, or business operations.
You will gain exposure to multiple areas of our business, with a primary focus on business development, sales, and marketing. You will help execute our marketing plan, track sales activity, prepare reports, support outreach initiatives, and assist with the day-to-day operations of our growing brokerage.
You will learn how an independent insurance agency operates, how businesses develop new clients, how marketing translates into revenue, and how sales performance is measured.
No prior insurance experience is required. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, comfortable with technology, and ready to take initiative.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Business Development & Sales Support
- Assist with business development initiatives and new client outreach.
- Research prospective clients, industries, and potential referral partners.
- Help organize prospect lists and maintain sales pipeline information.
- Run sales reports, track production activity, and monitor progress toward business goals.
- Help identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Support sales meetings, presentations, and business development projects.
Marketing & Growth
- Help manage and execute the company's marketing plan.
- Assist with email campaigns, prospecting initiatives, and referral marketing.
- Coordinate marketing calendars, campaigns, and follow-up activities.
- Research target markets, competitors, and potential business opportunities.
- Help develop marketing materials and support website or social media updates as needed.
- Track marketing activity and help measure campaign results.
Business Administration & Accounting Support
- Assist with general office administration and business operations.
- Perform basic accounting data entry and organize financial records.
- Help maintain spreadsheets, reports, and business documentation.
- Support data organization, recordkeeping, and internal process improvements.
- Assist with special projects as the Boise office grows.
Learn the Insurance Industry
- Learn the fundamentals of commercial insurance and the independent brokerage business model.
- Understand how insurance producers develop business and build client relationships.
- Gain exposure to commercial real estate, construction, and other business insurance markets.
- Learn how carrier relationships, client service, and sales production contribute to business growth.
