Tips for Your Marketing Intern Job Search
Tailor your resume to the channel
Marketing intern roles vary widely by focus, so a resume built for a social media internship won't land a content or analytics role. Swap in channel-specific verbs and tools for each application, matching the exact language in the job posting.
Build a portfolio before you apply
Hiring managers for marketing intern roles expect to see work samples, even from students. Collect class projects, personal brand experiments, mock campaigns, or volunteer social posts into a single shared folder or simple site you can link in applications.
Filter openings by team size and industry
A startup marketing internship means wearing many hats with little supervision, while a large CPG or agency role often means owning one narrow task. Decide which setting matches how you learn best, then search by industry to target the right fit.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists marketing intern openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare a data point from past work
Interviewers for marketing intern positions nearly always ask about results. Pull one concrete outcome from a project, even a class assignment, such as an engagement rate, a growth number, or a delivery you shipped on a deadline, and practice stating it plainly.
Follow up with the hiring manager
After a marketing intern interview, send a short note within 24 hours that references one specific topic from the conversation. It signals genuine interest and keeps you top of mind during a review process that often involves multiple intern candidates at once.
Marketing Intern Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most marketing interns?
The companies hiring the most marketing interns right now include TikTok, Kaizen Marketing, and MGM Resorts International, with the largest share of openings in California, New York, and Florida, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand is highest at consumer brands, media companies, and digital agencies looking for support across social, content, and campaign channels.
How many marketing intern jobs are remote?
About 25% of marketing intern openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, making it one of the more flexible entry-level roles in the job market. Remote availability is especially common in content writing, social media management, and email marketing, where output is largely digital and collaboration happens asynchronously.
How do you become a marketing intern?
To become a marketing intern, build a small portfolio of real or self-initiated projects that show you can create content, run a campaign, or analyze results. Apply to roles that match your strongest channel, whether social, content, or analytics. Tailor each application to the industry and team size, and practice explaining one concrete result you produced in any previous project or class work.
Can I get a marketing intern job with no experience?
You can get a marketing intern job with little or no formal experience by substituting coursework, personal projects, or volunteer work for paid history. Brands and agencies hiring at the intern level care most about curiosity and output, so a mock campaign you built for class, a social account you grew independently, or a blog you maintained all count as demonstrable work.
What does the marketing intern interview process look like?
A marketing intern interview typically starts with a phone or video screen focused on your background and motivation, followed by a conversation with a hiring manager or small team. Many companies add a practical exercise, such as drafting a social caption, proposing a content idea, or reviewing a campaign brief. The full process usually runs two to three rounds before an offer is extended.
Where can I find and apply to marketing intern jobs?
You can find and apply to marketing intern jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from companies across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your skills and interests, then apply directly to each one that fits. No detours, no middlemen, just a straightforward application to the employer posting the role.
