Who's Hiring

Consulting Intern Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a consulting intern job in Chicago?
Target the Loop and River North, where management consulting, financial advisory, and strategy firms cluster most densely in Chicago. Large consulting practices, Big Four professional services firms, and mid-size boutiques based downtown hire the most interns. A strong analytical background, familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint, and at least one case interview practice session give candidates a real edge in this market.
Which companies hire consulting interns in Chicago?
Chicago consulting intern roles are posted by Sargent & Lundy, Plante Moran, and EY and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. The city's employer mix runs from global strategy and Big Four professional services firms downtown to boutique operations and corporate strategy teams at major Chicago-headquartered companies in healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.
Are there remote consulting intern jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the type of work: analytical and research-focused consulting internships are more likely to offer flexibility, while client-facing or on-site project roles almost always require in-person presence. About 100% of consulting intern openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common at larger downtown firms in the Loop and Fulton Market.
How can I get a consulting intern job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Chicago is targeting internship programs at mid-size boutique consulting firms or the internal strategy teams of major Chicago-headquartered companies in healthcare, insurance, and manufacturing, which tend to have lower competition than elite strategy shops. Research roles, junior analyst positions, and project coordinator openings at firms in the Loop and River North are common stepping stones, and local university recruiting events at Northwestern, UChicago, and DePaul connect early-career candidates directly with Chicago employers.
