This includes developing the strategy, identifying opportunities, and working with our leaders to refine their voice and platform.
You’ll lend your prolific writing ability to capture our executives’ voices, draft compelling blog posts, and translate complex concepts into inspiring narratives that tell the story of who we are and what we do. You’ll also play a key role in managing our corporate reputation, assisting with media relations for non-clinical stories and complex issues, and serving as a Public Information Officer for designated hospitals. You’ll closely follow industry trends, both locally and nationally, and advise on opportunities to join in the conversation.
Operating in a highly collaborative, relationship-centered environment, you will work cross-functionally with marketing, social media, and internal communications to ensure our story is told seamlessly across all channels.
What you will do:
- Own and manage the thought leadership program, including developing the strategy, identifying and assessing impactful speaking and relationship-building opportunities, and managing a calendar of opportunities in partnership with our external PR agency. This also includes partnering closely with the social media and content teams to develop integrated, cross-channel campaigns that amplify our corporate reputation and thought leadership successes.
- Establish trusted relationships with local and national reporters, as well as major healthcare conference organizers, to position Endeavor Health leaders as go-to industry experts. Support local and national media relations, content creation and storytelling around leadership, system strategy, innovation and research, regularly meeting with teams across the system and following industry innovation and news to uncover and understand new opportunities.
- Steward and maintain a presentation and toolkit that helps our leaders tell the story of Endeavor Health to our community, ensuring the narrative remains fresh, aligned with system strategy, and updated annually to help leaders build advocacy among community partners.
- Play a key role in the development and implementation of systemwide external awards and recognition communications, highlighting the system’s initiatives and top-tier talent. Partner with Marketing/Insights team and other stakeholders to understand award methodologies and identify meaningful awards and amplification opportunities. Draft submissions and supporting cross-channel materials.
- Draft high-caliber external communications, including executive by-lines, op-eds, blog posts, social media posts and prepared remarks that capture the authentic voice of our leadership.
- Assist in preparation and delivery of media and/or speaking training, as needed.
- Serve as a designated Public Information Officer (PIO) for assigned hospitals, building strong working relationships with onsite hospital leadership to ensure crisis readiness.
- Support the Director, External Communications on reactive issues, assisting with change management communications and navigating complex, non-service line inquiries (such as legal, billing, or societal issues) as needed.
What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or hospital administration required.
- Experience: Five (5) years of experience in the public relations or communications-related field required. Previous experience employed at or managing PR agencies strongly preferred.
-
Unique or Preferred Skills:
