We are looking for Research Interns in the area of computer vision and machine learning at all levels at TikTok. We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship. PhD internships at Our Company provide students with the opportunity to actively contribute to our products and research, as well as to the organization's future plans and emerging technologies. This internship provides students the opportunity to join one of our engineering teams where you will have the opportunity to:
- Build new features that touch hundreds of millions of people around the world

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during in 2027
- Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Strong track record of research in one or more areas of computer vision, computer graphics and machine learning, preferring candidates with publications in some conference such as SIGGRAPH/SIGGRAPH Asia, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR.
- Highly competent in algorithms and programming.
- Work and collaborate well with team members.
- Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications.
- High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Hourly) - Campus Intern
The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $60 - $60. Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance. The Company reserves the right to modify or change these benefits programs at any time, with or without notice.

What happens if my CPT role transitions into a full-time offer before I graduate?
A full-time offer before graduation doesn't automatically extend your CPT authorization. If you want to continue working, your DSO needs to issue a new CPT authorization for the updated terms. If the role converts to a post-graduation offer, you'd transition to OPT rather than CPT once you finish your degree and your OPT EAD is approved.
Does the research I do during CPT count toward an eventual H-1B specialty occupation determination?
USCIS evaluates H-1B visa specialty occupation based on whether the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field at the time of the H-1B petition, not on prior work history. That said, CPT experience in AI research strengthens the employer's position when documenting that the role consistently requires advanced degree-level knowledge, which supports the specialty occupation argument in the I-129 petition.
