Job Summary/Basic Function
The Assistant Director of Creative Content will assist the Athletic Communications staff in advancing a quality NCAA Division I athletics program through the development of compelling visual content, photography, and graphic design that enhances the department’s brand identity, supports storytelling initiatives, and engages fans, student-athletes and alumni. This position will collaborate closely with Athletic Communications, Creative Interns, Marketing, and external relations units to coordinate, create, and produce high-quality creative assets for digital, print, and social media platforms across Middle Tennessee Athletics. The Assistant Director of Creative Content will contribute to elevating the department’s visual presence through original design concepts, event photography, and brand-driven storytelling while supporting the promotion of all athletic programs. As directed by departmental leadership, this individual will work toward achieving excellence in all phases of creative content production, cultivating a positive and collaborative work environment, while managing daily responsibilities with character, integrity, creativity, and professionalism. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree required.
Required Related Experience

One year of experience in graphic design, photography, and creative media in a high school, college, and/or professional sports environment. Must show strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. A collaborative mindset, openness to creative feedback, attention to detail, and strong communication skills (written/verbal) are also necessary. Must be able to work autonomously, managing multiple project timelines and communication with various stakeholders, delivering completed projects within time-sensitive deadlines.

One (1) year progressively responsible experience in media relations, sports information, social media, writing and editing skills, as well as development of graphics for social media platforms, photography, or comparable experience required. Additionally relevant, progressively responsible experience in the field of sports information to include producing statistical information, reporting of actual athletic events/outcomes, designing and laying out guides, and advanced writing skills for feature stories of selected athletes required.

Relevant experience gained as a graduate assistant will count toward the experience requirement.
Desirable Related Experience

Master's degree preferred. Two or more years of experience in graphic design, photography, and creative media in a high school, college, and/or professional sports environment.

Two (2) years College sports experience in athletic communication social media, writing and editing skills production, highlight films photography or comparable experience preferred.

Additionally, progressively responsible experience in the field of sports information, including producing statistical information, reporting on actual athletic events/outcomes, designing guides, and advanced writing skills for feature stories on selected athletes, is preferred.
