This includes oversight of the design, execution, and continuous improvement of a multi-phase, competitive RFP process through which the majority of funds will be distributed to partner organizations across 73 of Ohio’s 88 counties, with a focus on high-impact programs that support the recruitment, retention, and professional development of healthcare workers.
The Director will serve as a central coordinating authority, working in close collaboration with key administrative, fiscal, and academic units at Ohio University to ensure rigorous oversight of procurement processes, budget management, contract compliance, performance metrics, and reporting requirements. The role requires advanced skills in grant governance, cross-functional coordination, and outcomes-based program evaluation, ensuring all funded initiatives meet defined deliverables and align with strategic objectives.

This requires exceptional stakeholder engagement, executive communication, and consensus-building skills to align diverse priorities toward unified statewide workforce goals.
As the public-facing leader and principal representative of the Rural Health Transformation Grant, the Director will ensure all initiatives are strategically aligned with the work plan approved by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH). This includes leading high-level strategic planning efforts that integrate partner priorities, anticipate emerging workforce needs, and address implementation challenges to maintain program effectiveness and momentum.
