YOUR ROLE
To support our ambition of becoming a leading sustainability consulting and capability provider, we are seeking a Sustainability Data and AI Consultant/Engineer for the North American market. This role will focus on designing and delivering AI-driven sustainability solutions, enabling organizations to accelerate their ESG, Net-Zero, and climate business outcomes initiatives through data, governance, analytics, and advanced AI techniques. You will work closely with global leadership, sustainability experts, and Data & AI teams to build scalable, industry-specific Data and AI solutions for sustainability business cases.
- Support pre-sales, RFP responses, and PoC development for sustainability Data and AI offerings.
- Design and build Data and AI solutions for sustainability business cases such as ESG reporting, carbon accounting, supply chain optimization and resilience, resource optimization, product life cycle automation, data-driven solutions for Net-Zero, Environmental Profit & Loss, climate analytics and climate risk modeling.
- Develop AI-enabled frameworks and apply AI techniques (Agentics, RPA, Predictive analytics, GenAI, NLP) to automate ESG governance and compliance, reporting, regulatory alignment and sustainability insight across the value chain of enterprise.
- Design and maintain data pipelines, ESG data models, and sustainability data platforms.
- Integrate internal and external sustainability datasets (carbon emissions, regulatory data, ESG disclosures, ESG risks scoring) and implement leading ESG solutions from the market.
- Work with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and tools like Databricks, Snowflake, Python, SQL for scalable AI solutions.
- Collaborate with consulting teams to translate sustainability challenges into AI-driven business outcomes solutions.
- Participate in client workshops, discovery sessions, and solution design discussions.
- Stay updated on emerging ESG regulations, AI trends, and sustainability technologies.
- Contribute to accelerators, frameworks, and reusable assets for sustainability solutions.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 5–6 years of experience in Data, AI/ML, Engineering, Governance or Analytics roles.
- 1–2 years of exposure to Business Sustainability / ESG / Climate / CSR initiatives.
- Experience in consulting or client-facing roles preferred.
- Strong proficiency in selling solutions.
- Customer centric, relation builder, entrepreneur, problem solving skills.
- Experience in Machine Learning / AI (predictive models, NLP, GenAI preferred), AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, AI workflow and Agentics platform like Claude, Gemini, Co-pilot.
- Experience with data engineering concepts (ETL pipelines, data lakes, data governance, etc.).
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Experience with leading Sustainability solutions.
- Understanding of ESG data models, sustainability metrics, and data governance.
- Working knowledge of ESG regulations, scoring agency, and frameworks (CSRD, ISSB, GRI, SASB, CDP).
- Understanding of carbon accounting, LCA, LCI and GHG Protocol.
- Experience in sustainability reporting and disclosures.
COMPENSATION
- The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $125,000 - $190,000.
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.
These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.
It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
