Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all. Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
About The Role
This role sits at the intersection of financial rigor and operational excellence for Salesforce's Data Solutions organization — one of the most strategically important teams in the company. As Senior Manager, Strategy and Operations, you'll own the financial and capacity levers that keep the business healthy: managing budgets, shaping workforce plans, and driving the operational rhythms that enable smart, data-backed decisions. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with senior leaders across Data Solutions and Finance, turning complex numbers into clear narratives and translating strategy into execution.
What You'll Be Doing
- Drive budget and forecast cycles — own the end-to-end budget process from annual planning and quarterly forecasts through month-end close; maintain financial models and proactively flag risks and opportunities
- Lead capacity planning — model headcount, manage contractor relationships, and inform digital/AI labor investment decisions, balancing resources against strategic goals and budget constraints
- Own external spend management — manage vendor contracts, PO tracking, and procurement partnerships to ensure spend is optimized, compliant, and tied to business priorities
- Build financial reporting and insights — create and maintain dashboards that give leaders real-time visibility into spend health, actuals vs. plan, capitalization, and variance; translate data into executive-ready narratives
- Oversee T&E management — manage travel and expense budgets, ensure policy compliance, and surface opportunities to optimize spend across the org
- Run core business rhythms — lead operational cadences including planning cycles, leadership reviews, and V2MOM/OKR tracking with a finance-forward lens
- Partner with functional leaders — serve as the day-to-day financial and operational partner enabling fast, informed decision-making across the organization
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
What We're Looking For
- 5–8 years of experience in finance, strategy, business operations, or a related field — FP&A, consulting, or operations roles in tech are strongly preferred
- Deep experience managing budgets, external spend, and financial forecasting in a complex, matrixed organization
- Experience with capacity planning — including headcount modeling and emerging digital/AI labor frameworks
- Proven ability to build and own financial models and dashboards end-to-end in Google Sheets, Tableau or comparable tools
- Experience using AI tools or automation in financial and operational systems
- Strong understanding of T&E management and corporate spend policy
- Skilled at translating complex financial data into clear, concise executive narratives
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to risk identification
- Track record of effective cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Procurement, and HR partners
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the Values & Behaviors for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a technology organization
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Workday, or Coupa
- Background in goal planning, OKR frameworks, or business partnering to senior leadership
What's In It For You
Data Solutions is central to Salesforce's AI strategy — building the data infrastructure and insights that power Agentforce and the world's leading CRM. In this role, you'll have direct access to senior leadership and a front-row seat to the company's most consequential growth priorities. You'll do work that matters, build skills that scale, and partner with a team that values rigor, curiosity, and getting things done. Unleash Your Potential When you join Salesforce, you’ll be limitless in all areas of your life. Data Operations Manager Jobs in San Francisco: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a data operations manager job in San Francisco?
Focus your search on SoMa and Mission Bay, where fintech firms, enterprise software companies, and healthtech startups cluster most of their data operations hiring. Candidates who stand out in San Francisco typically combine hands-on SQL or Python skills with experience managing data pipelines at scale. Familiarity with cloud-native stacks and cross-functional collaboration with engineering and product teams gives you a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire data operations managers in San Francisco?
Companies currently hiring data operations managers in San Francisco include DoorDash, OpenAI, and Airwallex, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The local market is shaped heavily by established tech platforms, high-growth fintech firms, and healthcare data companies headquartered or with major offices in the city.
Are there remote data operations manager jobs in San Francisco?
Yes, though it depends on the role's scope. Analytical and pipeline-focused positions tend to support remote arrangements, while roles tied to on-site data infrastructure or real-time operations require regular in-office presence. About 36% of data operations manager openings tied to San Francisco are remote or hybrid as of June 2026. Strategy, reporting, and tooling work are the functions most commonly offered remotely by San Francisco employers.
How can I get a data operations manager job in San Francisco with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in San Francisco is moving laterally from a data analyst, business operations, or data coordinator role at a local startup or mid-size tech company. Many SoMa and Financial District firms promote internally from these positions as data teams scale. Building proficiency in tools like dbt, Fivetran, or Looker, and contributing to open-source data projects, strengthens your candidacy with San Francisco employers who prize demonstrated technical initiative over credentials alone.
