Our Lubbock office is looking for a dedicated candidate to join their team as a Dental Assistant! We provide on the job training, so certification is not required to be hired as a DA.

JOB PURPOSE
To assist the dentist effectively and efficiently in providing dental care to patients and to promote Familia Dental’s culture and mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and escort patient in a professional and friendly manner from reception area to and from the treatment areas.
- Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with inventory and re-order when necessary.
- Take and record patient’s medical and dental histories and vital signs, blood pressure & pulse.
- Document/chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit per Dentist’s instructions and legal requirements.
- Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays.
- Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations – as allowed by state law.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials and assist Dentist during dental procedures.
- Effectively provide dental education and information to patients to ensure patient awareness of dental health, and oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).
- Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns.
- Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews and regular office meetings.
- Recognize and be sensitive to patients’ emotions.
- Understand and follow company policy and procedures.
- Understand and follow state and federal laws related to a dental office.
- Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILL SETS
- Exceptional customer/patient service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software experience. Denticon experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in fast paced, patient-focused environment.
- Detail oriented.
- Able to carry out written and verbal instructions.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Meet state requirements for DA duties, continuing education, or license; Basic Life Support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate, and radiography certificate.
- Dental assisting experience is preferred, but not required.
- Experience working within healthcare or related field strongly preferred.

AVAILABILITY / SCHEDULE
Working hours between: M-F, 7:30AM - 7:00 PM and Sat, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- 4+ days a week, 30-40 hours per week.
- Available to work Saturdays, when needed.
- Full shifts (8-10 hours).
