Entry Level Design Project Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level design project manager job?
Start by building a portfolio that shows you can organize a creative project from brief to delivery, even if the work came from a class, internship, or freelance gig. Employers at this level look for candidates who understand design workflows, can communicate across teams, and are comfortable with project management tools like Asana, Jira, or Trello. A demonstrated ability to keep timelines and stakeholders aligned often matters more than years of experience.
Which companies hire entry level design project managers?
Companies hiring entry level design project managers right now include Elevate Care, UAB Medicine, and NYU Langone Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including in-house creative teams at large brands, agencies, and product-focused startups that need organized coordinators to support senior designers and leads.
Are there remote entry level design project manager jobs?
Yes, though on-site and hybrid roles are also well represented at this stage. About 11% of entry level design project manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates without a preference for a specific city have meaningful flexibility. Filtering by work setting when you search helps you focus on the format that fits your situation.
Are these new grad design project manager jobs?
Yes, the listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior design project manager roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internship work or a strong portfolio toward the requirement, and does not list people management as a core responsibility. Look for titles that include words like coordinator, associate, or junior as additional signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level design project managers?
Entry Level design project manager roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to run high volumes of creative projects with tight deadlines, which creates steady demand for organized entry level candidates who can keep design work moving without senior oversight.
