Who We're Looking For - Senior Media Buyer
The Penny Hoarder is seeking a performance-driven media buyer to own and scale a core revenue channel.
This role is responsible for owning revenue and gross margin performance of Native platforms, managing a multi-million-dollar budget, and driving continuous optimization across the full funnel, from ad creative to landing page experience to downstream monetization.
While Native is the primary focus, we are open to candidates from other performance channels (Meta, Google, etc.) who have a proven track record of driving results and are motivated to expand into a full-funnel, performance-driven environment.
This is a highly autonomous role with clear accountability for outcomes, requiring strong analytical thinking, speed in execution, and a bias toward action.
We are open to remote candidates who are willing to work East Coast (EST) hours.
The Impact You Will Make
- Own the Native channel end-to-end, including strategy, execution, and performance outcomes across platforms
- Manage and optimize a multi-million-dollar budget to drive efficient, profitable customer acquisition.
- Analyze campaign performance daily, identify root causes of changes, and take decisive, data-informed actions to improve results.
- Evaluate performance across the full marketing funnel to identify and close gaps in user experience, conversion flow, and revenue opportunities.
- Translate data into clear insights, identify the key drivers of performance, and take ownership of acting on them.
- Develop and execute a robust testing roadmap, including A/B testing of ad creative, copy, and landing page experiences.
- Continuously launch and iterate on new campaigns, creatives, and tests to drive incremental performance gains and scale what works.
- Prioritize high-impact opportunities and focus efforts on initiatives that drive meaningful business outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, editorial, and analytics teams to align media strategy with content and monetization goals.
- Monitor key performance indicators (CPL, ROAS, profit per session, lead quality, etc.) and deliver actionable reporting to stakeholders.
- Stay up to date on platform updates, industry trends, and competitive strategies to inform ongoing campaign improvements.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in performance marketing, with hands-on experience managing Native advertising campaigns.
- Proven track record scaling paid media campaigns profitably at meaningful spend levels (Native, Meta, Google, or similar)
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify root causes of performance, separate signal from noise, and make confident, data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in Excel, including working with large datasets and building reports.
- Deep understanding of affiliate marketing models, lead generation, and revenue-per-click or revenue-per-session monetization strategies.
- Demonstrated track record of proactively testing, iterating, and scaling campaigns—not just maintaining performance.
- Knowledge of performance metrics (e.g., CPC, conversion rate, revenue per session) and how to optimize toward them.
- Demonstrated expertise in landing page optimization, including real-world testing examples that led to measurable improvements.
- Experience optimizing toward down-funnel quality metrics like lead-to-sale rate, client retention, or lifetime value.
- Ability to prioritize high-impact opportunities and act with urgency in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for performance outcomes.
- Clear and effective communicator, able to present insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Bonus: Experience in affiliate marketing, lead generation, or publisher-based business models.

Mid Level Digital Media Buyer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level digital media buyer job?
Position your experience around campaign ownership rather than task execution. A portfolio of campaign performance data strengthens applications at this level significantly.
