There is no state-issued license or registration required to work as a director of product design in New Hampshire. Most candidates build toward the role through a combination of a degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field, followed by progressive UX and product design roles at New Hampshire technology or financial services companies. Employers in Manchester and Nashua typically expect candidates to show leadership of multidisciplinary design teams before moving into a director title.
How much do director of product designs make in New Hampshire?
Director of product designs in New Hampshire earn a median of about $74,050 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,330 for the lowest 10% to over $138,200 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire director of product designs in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire director of product design roles are posted by BAE Systems USA, Amphenol, and Celestica and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. New Hampshire's concentration of enterprise software and financial technology firms in the Manchester-Nashua corridor means these openings are often tied to B2B product organizations rather than consumer brands.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most director of product design jobs?
Nashua, Exeter, and Stratham have the most director of product design openings in New Hampshire. Manchester and Nashua lead because of their dense cluster of technology and financial services employers, while Portsmouth draws openings from software companies and digital agencies that have established offices along the seacoast corridor.

Yes, and more than most fields. About 26% of director of product design openings tied to New Hampshire are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and screen-sharing nature of design leadership work. Strategic responsibilities like design critique, roadmap planning, and stakeholder alignment are the parts of the role most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a director of product design in New Hampshire with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving from a senior product designer or design lead role into a director title within the same organization. New Hampshire technology employers in Manchester and Nashua, including enterprise software and fintech firms, frequently hire senior individual contributors and promote them after demonstrating cross-functional leadership. Building a portfolio that shows end-to-end product ownership and mentorship, and pursuing a formal HCI or design management credential, meaningfully strengthens a candidacy for that first director appointment.
