Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Industrial Hygienist
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
AIOH membership and SafeWork compliance experience don't map automatically to U.S. norms. Frame your credentials against OSHA standards and ACGIH guidelines so hiring managers recognize your qualifications as equivalent to a U.S. CIH pathway.
Target industries with mandatory IH compliance programs
Construction, mining, chemical manufacturing, and healthcare facilities must meet OSHA exposure limits by law, making them reliable E-3 sponsors. Employers in these sectors already budget for IH headcount and understand occupational health visa requirements.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters roles by E-3 sponsorship readiness, so you're not sifting through listings from employers unfamiliar with the visa. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once an offer is confirmed.
Clarify specialty occupation status before accepting an offer
E-3 eligibility requires the role to normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Ask the employer to confirm the job description specifies an occupational health or sciences degree, not a generic health and safety background, before DOL files the LCA.
Time your application around OSHA inspection cycles
Employers facing active OSHA enforcement actions or scheduled programmed inspections have immediate IH hiring urgency, which shortens offer-to-LCA timelines. Roles posted shortly after an OSHA citation are often approved and funded faster than routine backfills.
Confirm your employer will file the LCA before the DS-160
The DOL-certified LCA must exist before your consulate appointment. Some smaller employers don't know they file it, not you. Get written confirmation the employer has engaged HR or counsel to submit via DOL's FLAG system before you schedule your interview.

Find Industrial Hygienist JobsIndustrial Hygienist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Industrial Hygienist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces Industrial Hygienist roles from employers who are open to E-3 sponsorship, filtering out listings where visa support is unavailable or unclear. Because the E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap pressure, employers are far more willing to sponsor than they would be for H-1B roles.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Industrial Hygienist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental health, chemistry, or a closely related science. Roles where a generic health and safety background satisfies the requirement, regardless of field, are harder to qualify. The job description should specify the degree field, not just list safety duties.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Industrial Hygienist roles?
The E-3 has a 10,500-visa annual allocation that has never been fully used, so there's no lottery and no cap pressure. H-1B requires entering a randomised lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate in recent years. For an Australian industrial hygienist, the E-3 is a direct path to a U.S. role without the uncertainty of an annual lottery draw.
Can I switch Industrial Hygienist employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but the new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp before re-entering the U.S. if your current stamp has expired. You can begin work for the new employer as soon as the LCA is certified and your status reflects the new role, but you can't travel internationally on the old visa.
