Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Product Safety Engineer
Translate your Australian credentials clearly
Your Australian engineering degree satisfies the U.S. bachelor's degree requirement, but your employer's LCA filing needs to reflect a specialty occupation. Frame your role around product compliance standards like IEC, ISO, or UL certifications rather than general engineering duties.
Target manufacturers with dedicated safety functions
Focus on companies in medical devices, consumer electronics, and industrial equipment, industries where Product Safety Engineers are a defined headcount role, not a shared responsibility. These employers already understand the specialty occupation requirement and are more likely to sponsor E-3 workers.
Search verified E-3 sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find Product Safety Engineer roles at employers with confirmed E-3 filing history. Filtering by sponsorship type saves you from pursuing companies that treat visa support as an afterthought in the hiring process.
Clarify sponsorship before technical interviews begin
Ask HR whether the company has sponsored E-3 or LCA-based visas before, not during the offer stage. Employers unfamiliar with the E-3 often conflate it with H-1B and may hesitate unnecessarily, early clarification prevents late-stage offer withdrawals.
Get your LCA and DS-160 filed without delays
The E-3 process requires a certified LCA from DOL before you can attend your consulate appointment. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so your start date isn't pushed back by avoidable administrative gaps.
Plan your consulate appointment around your notice period
Australian consulate appointment wait times can range from days to several weeks depending on the post. Coordinate your resignation timing and requested start date with your employer so the visa interview window fits between your last day in Australia and your U.S. start date.

Find Product Safety Engineer JobsProduct Safety Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Product Safety Engineer jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Product Safety Engineer roles at employers with confirmed E-3 visa sponsorship history. Because the E-3 requires a certified LCA tied to a specific job offer, searching on a platform that filters by actual sponsorship activity saves significant time compared to applying broadly and asking after the fact.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Product Safety Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences, or a closely related discipline. Roles focused on product compliance, regulatory testing, risk assessment, or safety certifications routinely satisfy the specialty occupation standard. Generalist positions where any degree field is accepted may not qualify, so job description specificity matters.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Product Safety Engineers?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been fully used, so there is no lottery and no registration fee. H-1B selection is capped at 85,000 slots and requires a lottery with roughly one-in-four odds. For Australian Product Safety Engineers, the E-3 is a direct path to a U.S. offer without the uncertainty of a random draw.
Can I switch employers while on an E-3 as a Product Safety Engineer?
Yes, but you need a new LCA certified by DOL and a new E-3 visa (or a change of status if you're already inside the U.S.) tied to the new employer. You can start work for the new employer once the new LCA is certified and the visa is issued. There is no portability provision equivalent to AC21, each employer requires its own filing.
