Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Labor Relations Representative
Frame your enterprise bargaining experience precisely
U.S. employers often don't recognize Australian industrial relations terminology. Translate your enterprise agreement negotiation experience into U.S. equivalents: collective bargaining, NLRA compliance, and grievance arbitration. This directly signals specialty occupation qualification to hiring managers reviewing E-3 sponsorship cases.
Target employers with union-represented workforces
Manufacturing, healthcare, and public transit companies with unionized employees have ongoing labor relations needs and established HR infrastructure to support E-3 sponsorship. Their legal teams already handle LCA filings, making your sponsorship request a routine process rather than a new undertaking.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to identify Labor Relations Representative openings with employers who have active sponsorship history. Migrate Mate surfaces roles matched to Australian professionals and manages your LCA filing and consulate preparation from offer to approval.
Verify your degree meets specialty occupation standards
The E-3 requires your role to normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. For Labor Relations Representatives, DOL and USCIS expect a degree in human resources, industrial relations, labor economics, or law. A general business degree may require supporting documentation linking your coursework to the role.
Request LCA filing before your start date is set
Your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before your visa application. LCA certification typically takes seven business days, but employer delays in initiating the process are common. Confirm your HR contact has submitted the LCA to FLAG.dol.gov before you book your consulate appointment.
Prepare for consulate questions on dual intent limitations
Unlike H-1B, the E-3 doesn't carry statutory dual intent protections. Consular officers may probe your nonimmigrant intent. Prepare clear answers about your role's defined scope, your employer's U.S. operations, and your ties to Australia to address this directly.

Find Labor Relations Representative JobsLabor Relations Representative E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Labor Relations Representative jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Labor Relations Representative roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so you're often applying blind. Migrate Mate surfaces roles matched to Australian professionals with E-3 sponsorship history, saving you from pursuing employers who have never navigated the process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Labor Relations Representative role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as human resources, industrial relations, labor economics, or law. USCIS evaluates whether the degree requirement is tied to the actual job duties. Roles focused on NLRA compliance, collective bargaining, and grievance arbitration have well-established degree-field connections that support specialty occupation classification.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Labor Relations Representative roles?
The E-3 is significantly more accessible for Australian nationals in this field. There's no lottery, no annual cap that could block your application, and no registration fee. You can apply directly at a U.S. consulate in Australia after your employer secures LCA certification. H-1B requires lottery selection, a longer employer-side process, and typically higher legal costs for your sponsor.
Can I switch employers while working as a Labor Relations Representative on an E-3?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you travel internationally, or a change of status filing if you're already in the U.S. There's no portability provision equivalent to H-1B's AC21. Plan your transition timeline around your current visa stamp's expiry and your new employer's readiness to initiate the LCA process.
