Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Operations Specialist
Align your degree to the role
Operations Specialist positions must meet DOL's specialty occupation standard, meaning your bachelor's degree field needs to match the role's core duties. A degree in business administration, industrial engineering, or supply chain management gives your application the strongest foundation.
Target employers with LCA filing history
Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to find companies that have previously certified LCAs for operations roles. Employers who have filed before understand the process and are far less likely to withdraw an offer after learning about E-3 visa requirements.
Request LCA filing as soon as you get an offer
Your employer must file and receive a certified LCA from DOL before you can apply for your visa. Ask your hiring manager or HR contact to start this step immediately after your written offer, since LCA certification can take up to seven business days and delays push back your consulate appointment.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once your offer is in hand, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This keeps the process moving without putting the administrative burden on an employer who may be filing an E-3 for the first time.
Clarify your Australian degree equivalency upfront
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 purposes, but some employers or their legal teams will question this. Prepare a one-page summary of your qualification and relevant experience before your offer stage to preempt delays.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions at your interview
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so consular officers will assess your ties to Australia. Bring documentation of ongoing commitments such as property, superannuation, or family connections to demonstrate you intend to return after your authorized stay ends.
E-3 Visa Operations Specialist: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Operations Specialist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to find Operations Specialist roles at U.S. employers with E-3 sponsorship history. Many employers post general operations roles without specifying visa support, so filtering by sponsorship availability saves you from pursuing positions where the employer hasn't navigated the process before. Migrate Mate surfaces that employer history directly in your search results.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Operations Specialist role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. Operations Specialist positions that require specific technical knowledge, process engineering, or supply chain expertise tied to a bachelor's degree in a relevant field generally qualify. Generalist coordinator roles where any degree field would be accepted are less likely to pass DOL scrutiny. Your job offer letter needs to specify the degree requirement clearly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Operations Specialist roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can start the process as soon as you have a job offer, at any time of year. The H-1B requires lottery selection, which runs once annually in March with a roughly 25% selection rate for general applicants. For Operations Specialist roles, the E-3 is a direct path that doesn't depend on chance.
Can I change employers or roles while on an E-3 as an Operations Specialist?
Yes, but each new employer must file a new LCA and you must obtain a new E-3 visa before starting work with them. You can't transfer an E-3 to a new employer the way some other visa categories allow. Plan for a gap of at least two to four weeks between offer acceptance and your start date to allow for LCA certification and consulate scheduling.
