Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Facility Technician
Verify your degree meets specialty occupation
U.S. employers must show your role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field, not just any degree. Frame your facilities or engineering qualification around the technical systems the job involves, not general maintenance duties.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Facility Technician sponsorship depends entirely on the employer's willingness to file an LCA with the DOL before your visa interview. Search DOL disclosure data to find facilities and property management companies that have sponsored similar roles before.
Find E-3 Facility Technician jobs through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to search Facility Technician roles filtered by E-3 sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you have an offer, so nothing stalls between acceptance and your consulate appointment.
Get your credentials evaluated before applying
Australian three-year engineering or facilities management degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees, but some employers will ask for a formal credential evaluation. Having one ready removes a common bottleneck in the offer process.
Negotiate LCA filing into your offer timeline
The LCA must be certified by the DOL before you can attend your consulate interview. Build this into your start-date conversation with your employer early so neither party is surprised by the two-to-three week certification window.
Address nonimmigrant intent clearly at your interview
E-3 consular officers assess whether you intend to return to Australia. Facility Technicians with ongoing Australian ties, a lease, or professional registrations back home can reference these directly to satisfy the nonimmigrant intent requirement under USCIS guidelines.

Find Facility Technician JobsFacility Technician E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Facility Technician jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Most general job boards don't filter by visa type, which makes the search slow and frustrating. Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals seeking E-3 sponsorship and lets you search Facility Technician roles by employers already familiar with the E-3 process. That reduces back-and-forth with HR about visa eligibility before you even apply.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Facility Technician role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. Positions focused on building automation systems, HVAC engineering, or technical operations management can qualify when the employer establishes that a bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related technical field is normally required. General maintenance or handyperson roles typically do not meet the specialty occupation threshold without that degree requirement embedded in the job description.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Facility Technician roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has significant advantages over the H-1B for this role. There's no annual lottery and no cap that routinely fills, so you can apply any time of year once you have an offer and a certified LCA. H-1B applicants for the same role would face a random selection process with no guarantee of entry, even with a valid offer.
What happens to my E-3 status if my Facility Technician employer terminates my role?
The E-3 is employer-specific, so termination ends your authorized status. USCIS provides a short grace period, generally up to 60 days, to find a new sponsoring employer or depart the U.S. If you secure a new Facility Technician offer quickly, your new employer files a fresh LCA and you attend another consulate interview or file a change of employer petition, depending on your situation.
