E-3 Visa Materials Manager Jobs
Materials Manager roles in the U.S. qualify as E-3 specialty occupations when tied to a bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, or industrial engineering. Australian professionals can pursue E-3 visa sponsorship without competing in the H-1B lottery, with two-year renewable status and no annual cap to worry about.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Materials Manager
Translate your credentials for U.S. employers
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 visa purposes, but bring a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator if your degree is in a field adjacent to supply chain or operations management.
Target manufacturers with existing LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Labor Condition Application disclosure data to find manufacturers and distributors that have previously sponsored materials or supply chain roles. These employers already understand the E-3 filing process and won't need educating on sponsorship basics.
Search specifically on Migrate Mate for E-3 roles
Generic job boards won't filter for E-3 sponsorship willingness. Use Migrate Mate to find Materials Manager openings at employers with verified sponsorship history, which cuts the time spent chasing roles where the hiring manager has never heard of the E-3.
Clarify the specialty occupation link in your resume
USCIS requires the role to theoretically and practically require a relevant bachelor's degree. Materials Manager job descriptions often list a degree as preferred rather than required, so make sure your resume and any employer documents explicitly frame the role around specialized degree-level knowledge.
Get the LCA certified before your interview appointment
The DOL typically certifies Labor Condition Applications within seven business days, but the LCA must be approved before you can attend your consular interview. Confirm with your employer that the LCA filing is underway the moment you accept an offer, not after your appointment is scheduled.
Use a filing service once you have an offer
E-3 paperwork involves both a DOL filing and a consulate preparation stage that most hiring managers haven't handled before. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage the LCA submission, DS-160, and consulate documentation so errors don't delay your start date.
E-3 Visa Materials Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Materials Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Materials Manager roles filtered by E-3 sponsorship. Most general job boards don't surface E-3 willingness, so you end up applying blind. Migrate Mate connects Australian professionals with employers who have an active history of sponsoring E-3 visas for supply chain and operations roles, which significantly reduces wasted applications.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Materials Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the employer's job description requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as supply chain management, industrial engineering, business operations, or logistics. The role must theoretically and practically require that specialized degree-level knowledge. Generic management roles where any business degree qualifies may face closer USCIS scrutiny, so the job description wording matters.
How does the E-3 compare to H-1B for Materials Manager positions?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply at any time of year the moment you have a job offer. H-1B applications are capped at 85,000 per fiscal year and require a lottery registration in March, with no guarantee of selection. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is a far more predictable path to a Materials Manager role in the U.S.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Materials Manager?
Yes, but you'll need to restart the process with your new employer. The new employer files a fresh LCA with the DOL, and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if yours is tied to the previous employer's petition. You can begin working for the new employer once the new LCA is certified and a new visa is issued, so plan for a gap in your timeline between roles.
