E-3 Visa General Superintendent Jobs
General Superintendent roles in the U.S. construction and infrastructure sector qualify as E-3 specialty occupations when the position requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. Australian professionals can secure E-3 visa sponsorship without competing in any lottery, making this one of the most direct paths to U.S. site leadership work.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a General Superintendent
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
U.S. hiring managers may not recognise Australian qualifications like a Bachelor of Construction Management or an engineering degree from a Group of Eight university. Request a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator to confirm your degree is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's, which is required to establish E-3 specialty occupation eligibility.
Target general contractors with federal project portfolios
Firms holding federal construction contracts are already enrolled in E-Verify and accustomed to employment eligibility documentation. They're structurally more prepared to sponsor an E-3 than smaller subcontractors, and their HR teams won't treat the LCA filing process as unfamiliar territory.
Search verified E-3 sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Finding General Superintendent roles that explicitly offer E-3 visa sponsorship is the first practical barrier. Use Migrate Mate to filter for employers with active E-3 sponsorship history so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never filed an LCA for this visa type.
Confirm the role meets specialty occupation requirements
Not every General Superintendent posting will qualify. The DOL's LCA process requires the role to normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. If a job description says 'degree preferred' rather than 'required,' push back and ask the employer to confirm the posting language before proceeding to an offer.
Get your offer letter scoped before LCA submission
The LCA locks in your job title, worksite location, and prevailing wage level with the DOL. If your offer letter is vague about duties or lists multiple worksites, the LCA can fail certification. Ask your employer to specify the primary worksite and a clear scope of the superintendent role in writing before filing begins.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and consulate prep
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. General Superintendent applications can attract USCIS scrutiny on specialty occupation grounds, so having the filing managed correctly from the start reduces the risk of a consular refusal.

Find General Superintendent JobsGeneral Superintendent E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find General Superintendent jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Most General Superintendent postings don't advertise E-3 sponsorship explicitly, so searching general job boards returns mostly U.S.-only listings. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for employers with E-3 sponsorship history in construction and infrastructure, so you're targeting companies that have already filed LCAs for Australian workers rather than educating employers from scratch.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a General Superintendent role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
It can, but it depends on how the employer defines the role. The E-3 specialty occupation standard requires the position to normally demand a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field like construction management or civil engineering. If the job description accepts any degree or substitutes years of experience without a degree requirement, the DOL may not certify the LCA. Roles tied to licensed engineering oversight or complex infrastructure projects are the strongest candidates.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for General Superintendent roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no annual lottery, so you can apply any time of year once you have a job offer. The H-1B is subject to an annual cap and random selection, meaning a qualified candidate can be rejected purely by chance. For General Superintendent roles, the E-3 also tends to move faster because there's no USCIS petition required before the consular appointment, only a certified LCA.
Can I change employers or project sites on an E-3 as a General Superintendent?
Changing employers requires a new LCA and a new E-3 visa, since the visa is tied to a specific employer and worksite. Moving between project sites within the same employer is generally permissible if the locations are within the geographic area covered by the original LCA, but significant relocations may require an amended LCA filing with the DOL before you start work at the new site.
