Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Service Tech
Document your technical degree equivalency early
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees qualify under E-3 rules, but you'll need a credential evaluation confirming equivalency to a U.S. four-year degree. Get this done before you apply so employers aren't stalled waiting on paperwork.
Target employers with existing E-3 LCA history
Companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications before move faster on E-3 offers. Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for LCA filings under relevant SOC codes to find service and technical operations employers already familiar with the process.
Clarify specialty occupation fit in your resume
Service Tech roles vary widely. USCIS requires the role to normally demand a specific bachelor's degree field, so your resume must frame your duties around engineering, systems, or applied technical knowledge rather than general maintenance or operations tasks.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and visa paperwork
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the entire process from LCA filing with DOL through to consulate appointment preparation, so your employer doesn't need to engage a separate immigration attorney.
Negotiate your start date around LCA certification timing
DOL certifies most LCAs within seven business days, but your employer needs that certification before your consulate interview can proceed. Build at least three weeks of buffer between your signed offer date and your proposed start date.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment if your employer requires it
Some federal contractors and larger U.S. employers are required to use E-Verify for all new hires. Ask your prospective employer about E-Verify status before accepting an offer, as it affects your onboarding timeline and I-9 process.

Find Service Tech JobsService Tech E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Service Tech jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Filter by job title and industry to surface Service Tech positions where employers are open to E-3 candidates. Because the E-3 requires no lottery, employers in technical operations are more willing to sponsor than they would be for H-1B roles.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Service Tech role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. USCIS requires that the position normally demands a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or applied technology. Generalist maintenance or repair roles without a degree requirement won't qualify. Roles tied to complex systems, industrial equipment, or specialized infrastructure are stronger candidates, especially when the job description explicitly requires a relevant technical degree.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Service Tech professionals?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no cap that gets exhausted, so you can apply at any point in the year and start within weeks of receiving your visa. The H-1B is capped at 85,000 per year and selected by lottery, meaning most applicants wait until the following fiscal year even if approved. For Service Tech roles, the E-3 is a far more predictable path if you hold Australian citizenship.
Can I switch Service Tech employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need to either apply for a new E-3 visa at an Australian consulate or, in some cases, change status from within the U.S. You cannot simply transfer your existing E-3 to a new employer the way some other visa categories allow. Plan for a gap of at least two to four weeks between roles to allow LCA certification before your new employment begins.
