Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Reimbursement Manager
Align your credentials to U.S. billing standards
Australian healthcare billing experience translates well, but U.S. employers expect familiarity with ICD-10, CPT coding, and payer contract structures. Document your exposure to these systems in your resume before applying, even if your Australian work used equivalent frameworks.
Target health systems with dedicated sponsorship infrastructure
Large hospital networks and multi-site physician groups file LCAs regularly and have HR teams familiar with E-3 visa requirements. Smaller independent practices often lack the administrative capacity to navigate DOL filings, so prioritize employers with established international hiring patterns.
Get your employer to file the LCA early
The DOL Labor Condition Application must be certified before your consulate appointment. Push your employer to start the LCA process within days of your signed offer letter, not weeks, since delays at this stage directly stall your visa timeline.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for complex cases
Reimbursement Manager roles sometimes span multiple payer types or facility locations, which can complicate LCA wage determinations. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork, ensuring the prevailing wage classification matches your actual job duties.
Clarify specialty occupation status before accepting an offer
Not every Reimbursement Manager role automatically qualifies as a specialty occupation under E-3 rules. Confirm with your employer that the position requires a specific bachelor's degree field, not just any degree, so the role meets USCIS's specialty occupation standard before you proceed.
Prepare your credential equivalency documentation proactively
An Australian three-year bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree, but consular officers may request supporting documentation. Have your academic transcripts and, if needed, a credential evaluation ready before your visa interview to avoid delays.
E-3 Visa Reimbursement Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Reimbursement Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for Reimbursement Manager roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. General job boards rarely filter by visa type, so you waste time applying to roles where sponsorship isn't on offer. Migrate Mate surfaces roles specifically relevant to Australian professionals seeking E-3 sponsorship.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Reimbursement Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3 visa?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as healthcare administration, finance, business, or health information management. The key is that the employer's job description must specify a degree requirement tied to the role's duties. A generic posting that accepts any degree may not satisfy USCIS's specialty occupation standard, so review the job description carefully before applying.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Reimbursement Manager roles?
The E-3 is significantly more practical for Australian professionals in this field. There's no lottery, no annual cap, and the visa can be renewed indefinitely in two-year increments as long as you hold a qualifying job. H-1B requires entering a lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate, meaning you could wait years before gaining authorization. For Reimbursement Managers with a confirmed offer, the E-3 is the faster and more predictable path.
What happens to my E-3 status if I change employers or move to a different health system?
Your E-3 is employer-specific, so changing employers requires your new employer to file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new visa stamp at a U.S. consulate if your current stamp has expired. Unlike some other visa categories, there's no portability provision. Plan the transition carefully, as you'll need to time your start date with the new employer's LCA certification to avoid a gap in authorized work status.
