About the Team
The Inside Account Management team is part of DoorDash’s SMB account management engine. We are dedicated to the retention, satisfaction, and growth of 8,500+ high-impact restaurant partners. From our hubs in Tempe and Chicago, our team ensures that our merchants understand how to maximize their visibility, optimize their operations, and thrive on DoorDash. We pride ourselves on being data-driven, collaborative, and deeply committed to championing small business success.
About the Role
As a Merchant Success Manager (MSM), you will play a critical role in supporting and growing DoorDash’s SMB restaurant partners. You will manage a high volume book of ~500 merchants, building long-term relationships and helping restaurant owners improvise their performance on the platform. Through consistent outbound calls, email outreach, and data-driven conversations – you will guide merchants on how to increase visibility, optimize their listings, adopt DoorDash products, and ultimately grow their revenue.
You’ll be accountable for hitting weekly and quarterly KPIs — including outbound activity (dials, talk time), strategic merchant calls, QBR delivery, and results tied to revenue, operational metrics, ads/promo adoption, and fair pricing conversations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys fast-paced, high-volume merchant engagement, uses data to drive decisions, and feels energized by work that blends sales, account management, and operations.
We expect this role to be flexible in terms of time spent remote and in-office with the ability to travel as needed for in-person collaboration through training, offsites, team-building events, and other business related necessity.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Make outbound dials to existing merchants from your book of business (500+ accounts) to upsell them on DoorDash products and marketing spend
- Establish goals and key performance indicators for current DoorDash partners (SMB restaurant merchants)
- Advise business owners on promotions and spending to achieve their revenue goals
- Communicate with merchants by phone and email on an ongoing basis to monitor and support progress toward their goals
- Deliver and present quarterly business reviews ("QBR") that review a brand’s partnership with DoorDash, pinpointing success, highlighting areas for revenue optimizations, and planning for areas of opportunity and growth
- Reduce churn, while identifying and supporting new store expansions
- Collaborate with internal growth teams to identify the best products to pitch to merchants
- Ability to travel as needed for in-person collaboration through trainings, offsites, team-building events, and other business-related necessities
We’re excited about you because…
- You have 1+ years of experience in client-facing sales roles, increasing customer satisfaction, retention, and product adoption
- You have 1+ years of experience in Outbound Sales being held to DTT minimums
- You have 1+ years of experience in business operations or related setting
- You have experience in prior Outbound sales, account management, portfolio management, or related roles
- You have experience using Salesforce or similar CRM tools
- You are versed in using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), on an intermediate to proficient level
- You demonstrate empathy with customer needs and adapt to meet their unique goals

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Restaurant General Manager
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
Your three-year Australian hospitality or business degree meets the E-3 bachelor's equivalency requirement. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before applying so employers can confirm your degree satisfies the specialty occupation standard.
Target multi-unit and hotel group operators
Large restaurant groups, hotel food and beverage divisions, and national hospitality chains have dedicated HR teams familiar with E-3 sponsorship. Independent restaurants rarely have the infrastructure to file an LCA with DOL and manage the consulate process.
Find E-3 sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate surfaces Restaurant General Manager roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship, saving you from applying to positions that will stall at the visa question. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you secure an offer.
Clarify degree field alignment before your interview
The E-3 requires your degree to relate directly to the role. A hospitality management or business degree strongly supports a GM application, but a degree in an unrelated field raises specialty occupation questions. Have your argument ready before the employer asks.
Confirm your employer will file the LCA first
The employer must certify a Labor Condition Application with DOL before you can apply at the consulate. Ask hiring managers early whether their legal team handles LCA filings, since a delayed or unfiled LCA is the most common reason sponsorship stalls after an offer.
Time your consulate appointment around restaurant seasonality
Consulate appointment wait times vary by location and time of year. Scheduling your interview during a shoulder period rather than peak holiday season reduces the risk of a start-date gap that leaves your employer short-staffed during high-revenue periods.

Find Restaurant General Manager JobsRestaurant General Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Restaurant General Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so you'll spend significant time screening out roles where sponsorship isn't on the table. Migrate Mate focuses your search on positions where the E-3 path is already viable.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Restaurant General Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. A GM position at a large hotel group or multi-unit chain, where the employer routinely requires a bachelor's degree in hospitality management or business administration, generally meets the specialty occupation standard. A small independent restaurant that accepts any management experience without a degree requirement is harder to support under that standard.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Restaurant General Manager roles?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no lottery, no annual cap, and no registration fee. The H-1B requires entering a randomized lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate. For an Australian GM with a qualifying degree and a U.S. job offer, the E-3 is a far more direct path than competing for an H-1B slot that may not be selected.
Can I change restaurant employers after I arrive on an E-3?
Yes, but your E-3 status is tied to your specific employer and role. Changing jobs means your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa reflecting the new position. You can start working for the new employer once the LCA is certified and your new visa is approved, but you can't work for both simultaneously.
