The Role
Play a pivotal role leading external reporting and technical accounting for Beast Industries; owning the company's financial statements, technical accounting positions, and a disclosure-ready reporting framework. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Director of External Reporting & Technical Accounting will own the preparation of external financial statements and related disclosures end-to-end, own technical accounting positions across all business units, and serve as a primary technical interface with external auditors. This role will lead a strong in-house team, direct external co-source support, and build a reporting calendar, disclosure controls, and tie-out discipline. The ideal candidate is a technically expert, hands-on leader with a builder mentality and exceptional written communication skills.
- Own the preparation of external financial statements, footnotes, and related disclosures, building toward a recurring filing cadence
- Own technical accounting positions across the group, including segment reporting, EPS, stock-based compensation (ASC 718), revenue recognition (ASC 606), and business combinations (ASC 805)
- Research, evaluate, and document complex, non-standard transactions in clear, auditable technical memos
- Build and maintain the external reporting calendar, disclosure controls and procedures, and the supporting tie-out process
- Monitor, assess, and lead the adoption of new accounting standards, and own the company's accounting policy library
- Direct external co-source workstreams for drafting and technical memos, transitioning capabilities in-house over time
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for external auditors and support audit committee reporting
- Manage, mentor, and develop the technical accounting and external reporting team
- Partner with FP&A, Legal, and equity administration on reporting inputs, KPIs, and narrative disclosures
What You'll Bring
- 15+ years of progressive experience with deep ownership of external reporting and technical accounting; a mix of Big 4 public accounting and issuer reporting experience is highly desirable
- CPA required
- Expert-level US GAAP knowledge and command of SEC reporting requirements, including Regulation S-X and S-K
- Experience preparing a company for public company reporting or supporting a registration statement is strongly preferred
- A track record owning complex technical positions in multi-business-unit organizations
- Experience with disclosure controls and internal controls over financial reporting
- A hands-on, player-coach leadership style, capable of both executing detailed work and developing a team
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in technical memo drafting
- A builder mentality and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Compensation
The target total compensation ranges from $246,000 – $282,000 including a fixed annual salary of $205,000 – $235,000, an employee equity plan grant, bonus, plus comprehensive benefits. Equity grants are issued in good faith, subject to company policies, board approval, and individual eligibility.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Technical Accounting Manager
Get your CPA credentials assessed early
Australian CPA or CA qualifications need to be positioned as equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's-level credential for E-3 visa purposes. Request a credential evaluation from a NACES-member evaluator before you start applying so employers don't hit a paperwork delay at offer stage.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's public LCA disclosure data for companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for accounting manager titles. Employers already familiar with the LCA process move faster and are less likely to stall your offer over unfamiliarity with E-3 sponsorship.
Frame IFRS experience as a direct hiring advantage
Many U.S. companies with Australian subsidiaries or cross-border reporting obligations specifically need Technical Accounting Managers who understand IFRS-to-GAAP reconciliation. Lead with that dual-standard fluency in your resume and cover letter to differentiate yourself from domestic candidates.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and visa paperwork
Once you have an offer, the employer must file an LCA with the DOL before your visa application can proceed. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment, reducing errors that delay certification.
Clarify visa sponsorship scope before the offer letter
Ask hiring managers whether their company has handled E-3 sponsorship before and whether legal costs are covered. Some employers confuse E-3 with H-1B visa and assume a lottery is involved. Correcting that assumption early prevents last-minute withdrawals after offer stage.
Align your interview start date with LCA processing windows
DOL typically certifies LCAs within seven business days, but errors in prevailing wage documentation can extend that. Build at least two to three weeks between your accepted offer and your proposed start date so the LCA clears before you book your consulate appointment.
E-3 Visa Technical Accounting Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Technical Accounting Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It filters roles by E-3 sponsorship eligibility and surfaces employers with a history of filing for accounting and finance positions, so you're not sifting through listings from companies that have never sponsored an Australian professional before.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Technical Accounting Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes. Technical Accounting Manager positions require at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, which satisfies the E-3 specialty occupation definition. The role's focus on complex financial reporting, technical standards interpretation, and regulatory compliance reinforces that a specific degree is a baseline requirement, not a preference.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Technical Accounting Manager roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens but has no annual cap and no lottery, so approval depends on your qualifications and employer documentation rather than a random draw. The H-1B is capped at 85,000 per year and requires lottery selection before any petition can be filed. For Australians, the E-3 is a substantially more reliable path to a Technical Accounting Manager role in the U.S.
Can I switch employers while on an E-3 as a Technical Accounting Manager?
Yes, but you can't simply transfer your existing E-3 to a new employer. The new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp before re-entering the U.S. or a change of status if you're already onshore. Starting the paperwork before your last day reduces any gap in authorized employment.
