Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Utilization Management Nurse
Align your credentials with U.S. licensure requirements
Your Australian nursing registration won't automatically satisfy state licensure boards. Get your NCLEX-RN pass confirmed and verify your state's endorsement process before applying, since employers need proof of active U.S. licensure to file a valid LCA.
Target health systems with existing LCA filing history
Large hospital networks and managed care organizations that already hold certified LCAs for nursing roles process E-3 visa sponsorship faster. Search DOL's FLAG portal to confirm a prospective employer has filed LCAs for RN or utilization review positions before you invest in the application.
Distinguish UM Nurse roles from general staff nursing
Employers sometimes misclassify utilization management positions as non-specialty roles, which complicates LCA certification. Make sure your offer letter specifies clinical decision-making duties tied to your nursing degree, not administrative coordination tasks that a non-degreed hire could perform.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end processing
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork from certification through consulate preparation. This matters most when your start date is tight and your employer's HR team has no prior E-3 experience.
Confirm prevailing wage compliance before accepting the offer
The DOL requires your offered wage to meet the prevailing wage for your SOC code and work location. Request the LCA draft from your employer before signing any offer letter, so wage-level disputes don't stall your visa filing at the certification stage.
Prepare telehealth role documentation for remote or hybrid positions
UM nurses often work remotely, but your LCA must list a certified worksite location. If your role is hybrid or fully remote, confirm with your employer which state address USCIS and DOL will treat as your primary worksite, since this affects prevailing wage calculations.
E-3 Visa Utilization Management Nurse: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Utilization Management Nurse jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to filter Utilization Management Nurse roles by employers that actively support E-3 visa sponsorship. Many UM positions are posted without explicit visa language, so Migrate Mate surfaces roles at organizations with documented sponsorship history, saving you from applying to employers who will decline to file an LCA.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Utilization Management Nurse role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
Yes. Utilization Management Nurse positions require at minimum a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and active RN licensure, satisfying the E-3 specialty occupation standard. The role's core duties, including clinical necessity reviews and care coordination, are directly tied to nursing education, which is what consular officers and DOL reviewers look for when certifying the LCA.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Australian UM Nurses?
The E-3 is significantly more practical for this role. There's no annual lottery, so your employer files and you schedule your consulate appointment without waiting for a random selection result. The E-3 is also renewable in two-year increments indefinitely, whereas H-1B visa holders face a single fixed period unless they're in a green card queue. For Australian nurses, the E-3 is the standard path.
Can I switch employers or move to a remote UM Nurse role while on an E-3?
You can change employers, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you travel internationally. For remote roles, your new employer must certify an LCA listing the correct prevailing wage for your primary worksite state. Starting this process before your current job ends avoids gaps in authorized employment status.
