Position Summary:

What You'll Be Doing:
- Instructional Delivery
- Develop and deliver lesson plans that meet state and district standards, ensuring all students are actively engaged in learning.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technology tools to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
- Continuously assess student understanding and adjust teaching methods to improve outcomes. Collaborate with instructional coaches, department chairs, and fellow teachers to enhance curriculum alignment and instructional practices.
- Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring
- Regularly assess and analyze student performance through formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive student records, including grades, attendance, and progress reports.
- Use data to drive instructional decisions and provide targeted interventions as Work with various stakeholders to ensure students' individual needs are met.
- Classroom Management and Student Engagement
- Establish a positive and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel respected and motivated to succeed.
- Manage, supervise and ensure the safety, behavior, and well-being of students.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to minimize disruptions and maximize learning time.
- Foster students' social-emotional development by integrating trauma-informed practices and restorative justice approaches. Collaborate with parents, guardians, and necessary stakeholders to address behavior concerns and support student growth.
- Professional Development and School Collaboration
- Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve your craft and stay up to date on educational best practices.
- Contribute to schoolwide initiatives and collaborate with school staff on projects that support student achievement.
- Attend faculty meetings, workshops, family engagement events and parent-teacher conferences as required. Serve on school committees and contribute to creating a positive school climate.
To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Minimum Requirements)
- Bring Expertise and Vision:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
- Valid Missouri teaching certificate or eligibility for certification
- Strong understanding of curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom management Experience with or commitment to working in diverse, urban school environments
