- Collaborate with robotics engineers to design service-friendly architectures (e.g., swappable joint modules, sensor calibration ports, embedded diagnostics).
- Conduct/update serviceability FMEAs and validate service life cycle.
- Develop/update service BOMs, preventive maintenance schedules, and calibration protocols aligned with orthopedic surgical use cases.
- Specify and validate new/updated built-in diagnostics, and telemetry.
- Support and execute segments of complex product development to advance projects through the design /development/V&V/launch process.
- Plan and execute verification protocols.
Field Service Workflow
- Design service workflows that minimize disruption.
- Service readiness for new robotic applications/platforms prior to commercial launch.
- Collaborate with engineering in defining installation, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for robotic arms, navigation systems, and imaging integrations.
- Develop digital troubleshooting guides, assisted repair flows, and remote support capabilities for urgent intraoperative issues.
Customer Experience
- Capture Voice of Field Service Engineer and support agents to inform service design—prioritizing speed, clarity, and confidence.
- Collaborate with Training to create competency-based learning paths for technicians servicing robotic systems in OR environments.
Regulatory, Reliability & Compliance
- Ensure all service processes meet FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, and IEC 60601 standards for medical electrical equipment.
- Support post-market surveillance and feed reliability insights into product and service roadmaps.

Senior Level Field Service Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level field service manager job?
Employers at this level look for candidates who have led field teams, managed escalations independently, and owned service delivery metrics across multiple accounts or regions. A strong application highlights cross-functional coordination, experience mentoring technicians, and a history of improving first-time fix rates or reducing downtime. Certifications relevant to your industry's equipment or systems, combined with demonstrated leadership scope, give candidates a clear edge.
Which companies hire senior level field service managers?
Companies hiring senior level field service managers right now include Baxter, Rivian, and Sunbelt Rentals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to concentrate among enterprise equipment manufacturers, managed services firms, and industrial contractors that operate distributed field workforces and need experienced leaders to manage regional or national service coverage.
Are there remote senior level field service manager jobs?
Yes, though most roles at this level involve at least some on-site or client-facing responsibility. About 19% of senior level field service manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically covering planning, reporting, and team oversight functions rather than hands-on field work. Fully remote positions tend to appear at organizations with centralized service operations and strong digital infrastructure.
What makes a field service manager role senior level?
Senior level roles are defined by ownership and scope. Where a mid-level manager might oversee a local team and handle day-to-day scheduling, a senior field service manager sets service strategy, owns regional or national performance outcomes, and is accountable for contract compliance, customer satisfaction metrics, and budget management. These roles also carry a mentoring responsibility, developing less experienced managers and technicians within the organization.
Which industries hire the most senior level field service managers?
Senior level field service manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Manufacturing, and Medical Devices, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to drive demand because they operate complex equipment or infrastructure across distributed locations, requiring experienced leaders who can manage both the technical and operational dimensions of field service at scale.
