Melitta Professional Coffee Solutions seeks experienced field technicians capable of maintaining commercial coffee equipment. MPCS is the specialist for professional coffee serving in the food service sector. MPCS sells and services equipment in over 50 countries world-wide through an extensive network of subsidiaries and partners. Among our customers are leading hotels, restaurants, fast-food and coffee-shop chains, hospitals and catering companies.
SUMMARY
As a Field Service Technician with Melitta Professional Coffee Solutions, you will provide superior customer service as you troubleshoot equipment and deliver solutions. Working at our customer's facility, our service technicians are responsible for preventive maintenance, service, installation and customer training to ensure customer satisfaction. You will maintain the proper parts and supplies in your service vehicle in order to have the necessary tools on hand. This position requires mechanical, electrical, hydraulic experience, and experience. This is a road warrior position.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Receive dispatched service calls as assigned and ensure prompt response based on estimated time of arrival
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot/diagnose and service equipment to MPCS standards
- Maintain inventory and maintenance on company property
- Document all work performed and close out all activities upon completion
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow established safety standards
- Consistently present a professional image, both in personal appearance and condition of company equipment
- Professionally communicate to customer services performed
- Cover a service area and help out in other areas as needed
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotation, as needed
COMPETENCIES
SKILLS:
- Mechanical and electronic aptitude
- Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills
- Strong accuracy and detail oriented with all paperwork
- Customer relations, interpersonal relationships, team relations and service oriented
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must be self-starter, work with minimal supervision and be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
- Great oral and written communication skills
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Field service tech for more than 5 years or a similar position
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing equipment
- Demonstrated experience working in direct contact with customers on service-related activities
- A 2 year technical certification, apprenticeship training program, on the job training and or military equivalent
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with proof of an excellent driving record
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds
- Position requires sitting, standing, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Position requires bending, stooping, kneeling or squatting on a daily basis. May be up to 30% of the day
- Position requires driving van to and from customer sites daily
