Senior Level Field Services Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level field services engineer job?
Employers hiring at the senior level want engineers who have owned end-to-end deployments, resolved high-stakes escalations independently, and mentored junior technicians. Strong candidates demonstrate deep product or systems expertise, the ability to lead cross-functional coordination on-site, and a history of improving field processes, not just executing them. Certifications in relevant platforms and a record of customer-facing leadership sharpen your edge significantly.
Which companies hire senior level field services engineers?
Companies hiring senior level field services engineers right now include Intuit, Kasco, and Lenovo, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from manufacturers, managed service providers, enterprise technology firms, and industrial equipment companies that run large field operations and need experienced engineers to own regional or account-level outcomes.
Are there remote senior level field services engineer jobs?
Yes, though the role is inherently field-facing, a meaningful share of positions include remote or hybrid components such as remote diagnostics, client consulting, or team oversight. About 17% of senior level field services engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with fully remote opportunities most common in technical program management or senior field support roles that do not require physical installation work.
What makes a field services engineer role senior level?
A senior level field services engineer role is defined by ownership and scope rather than task execution. Senior engineers lead complex, multi-site deployments, serve as the escalation authority for unresolved technical issues, develop or refine field procedures, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers. They are expected to manage customer relationships independently, influence technical decisions, and drive outcomes across projects with minimal oversight.
Which industries hire the most senior level field services engineers?
Senior level field services engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Fintech, and Electronics & Hardware, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring because they operate large installed bases of equipment or infrastructure that require senior engineers to manage escalations, lead deployments, and maintain service quality at scale across distributed customer sites.
