Finance Director Jobs in Nashville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a finance director job in Nashville?
The strongest path into a Nashville finance director role runs through the city's healthcare corridor and its growing financial services sector. Employers in the Gulch, Midtown, and Cool Springs actively hire candidates who combine CPA credentials with experience in multi-entity consolidations or managed care finance. Nashville's relatively tight senior finance community rewards referrals, so engagement with local CFO networks and the Nashville CFO Leadership Council gives candidates a real edge.
Which companies hire finance directors in Nashville?
Employers hiring finance directors in Nashville right now include Oracle, Hailsolve, and HealthTrust, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Nashville's hiring base skews toward large healthcare systems, private equity-backed portfolio companies, and mid-market professional services firms, all of which tend to maintain dedicated finance director roles rather than outsourcing the function.
Are there remote finance director jobs in Nashville?
Yes, though finance director roles are less remote-friendly than purely analytical positions because the role typically involves direct oversight of accounting teams, audits, and board reporting. About 100% of finance director openings tied to Nashville are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid arrangements more common than fully remote. Strategic planning, financial modeling, and investor relations responsibilities tend to be the functions most compatible with remote work in Nashville.
How can I get a finance director job in Nashville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a senior finance manager or controller role at one of Nashville's mid-size healthcare or hospitality companies, where the gap between manager and director is narrower than at large corporate employers. Employers in the Franklin and Brentwood suburbs regularly promote from within, making those markets worth targeting early. Building familiarity with healthcare revenue cycle or multi-unit hospitality accounting gives candidates a concrete differentiator in Nashville's local market.
Which industries hire the most finance directors in Nashville?
The sectors hiring the most finance directors in Nashville are Education and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Nashville's status as a national hub for for-profit healthcare and a growing center for music, entertainment, and hospitality businesses creates consistent, year-round demand for finance leaders who can manage complex revenue structures across those industries.
