Registered Dental Assistant Green Card Jobs
Registered Dental Assistant roles can qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires your employer to document that no qualified U.S. workers are available for the position. State licensure requirements and clinical credential verification add steps that make early preparation critical for a smooth sponsorship timeline.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Registered Dental Assistant
Verify your state license transfers cleanly
PERM filings list the specific state where the role is based, and your dental assistant license must be valid in that state. Reciprocity rules vary widely, so confirm your credential is recognized before a sponsor begins the labor certification process.
Target dental group practices over solo offices
Multi-location dental groups have HR infrastructure and legal resources to manage PERM filings, I-140 petitions, and adjustment of status. Solo practitioners rarely have prior sponsorship experience and often abandon the process mid-filing when complexity increases.
Search sponsored roles using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Registered Dental Assistant openings by employers with active green card filing history. This cuts the time spent cold-applying to practices that have never sponsored a foreign worker and aren't equipped to start.
Request the prevailing wage determination early
DOL's PERM process requires your employer to submit a prevailing wage request before posting the job. Cross-check the offered wage against the OFLC Wage Search for your specific SOC code and geographic area so there are no surprises when the determination arrives.
Clarify your EB-2 or EB-3 category before filing
Most dental assistant roles file under EB-3 as skilled workers, but candidates with an associate degree plus a certified credential like CDA or RDA may have a stronger profile. USCIS evaluates the actual job duties, not just the title, so your employer's attorney should assess the correct category upfront.
Get your CGFNS-style credential evaluation documented
PERM requires proof your foreign dental training meets the U.S. equivalent. A credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization prepares your educational records in the format DOL expects, avoiding requests for additional evidence that delay the filing timeline.

Find Registered Dental Assistant JobsRegistered Dental Assistant Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Registered Dental Assistant job qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Yes. Registered Dental Assistant roles typically qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers, since the position requires state licensure, specific training, and at least two years of experience or credential-based preparation. The employer must complete PERM labor certification with DOL before filing the I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS, confirming no qualified U.S. workers were available for the role.
How does the green card process differ from H-1B sponsorship for dental assistants?
H-1B requires a specialty occupation with a bachelor's degree as the entry requirement, which most dental assistant roles don't meet. Green card sponsorship through EB-3 has no annual lottery, no cap concern at the skilled worker level for many nationalities, and leads to permanent residency rather than a renewable temporary status. The trade-off is a longer timeline: PERM, I-140, and adjustment of status together typically take two to four years for applicants without a significant priority date backlog.
What role does PERM play in sponsoring a dental assistant for a green card?
PERM is the DOL labor certification stage that comes first. Your employer must advertise the position, document the recruitment efforts, and certify that no minimally qualified U.S. worker applied. The specific dental assistant duties, required licensure, and geographic location all appear on the ETA-9089 form. Only after DOL certifies the PERM application can your employer file the I-140 petition with USCIS to formally sponsor your immigrant visa.
How do I find dental employers who have sponsored green cards before?
Use Migrate Mate to search Registered Dental Assistant roles filtered by employers with documented green card sponsorship history. Practices that have successfully completed PERM filings before understand the timeline, the wage obligations, and the attorney coordination required. Applying to sponsors with prior experience significantly reduces the risk of the process stalling or being abandoned before you reach the I-140 stage.
Can my state dental licensure affect my green card sponsorship timeline?
It can. PERM filings are state-specific, and USCIS will expect your license to be current and valid in the state where you'll work. If you're licensed in one state and the sponsoring employer is in another, you'll need to complete the reciprocity or endorsement process before the adjustment of status is approved. Starting licensure transfer early prevents a gap between your I-140 approval and your ability to legally start in the role.
